Hey, right now I have an 11" mba, and I am getting kinda old of mac. I want to try windows so... I do game a little bit and I have looked at many notebooks, I have came to sager/clevo. I have never heard about it and I want to know which notebook is right for me? Requirements:
- Weight is an issue for me since I am heading off to college next year, I am hoping 4 - 6 pounds max
- I don't game a lot, but when I do, I play bo2, aw, and ac 4
- I would prefer to not go above 15.6" for screen size
- I would like a quad-core cpu, if possible
That is all, thanks!

You didn't seem to list a budget.
Light laptops mean less internals which mean either cut out storage or cooling systems, especially if you are counting power brick + laptop for that weight limitation.
Either way, the Clevo P650SG seems like it might suit your needs. -
Thanks I'll check it out, I don't really have a budget...

I just checked out exotic pc, and I found another pretty decent laptop. Which one would you get, the clevo p650sg, that was found by D2 Ultima or the sager np7339?
-
The 7339 is the W230SD which is a fine machine, but it has less gaming power. It's up to you. I assumed you would rather a stock machine, so I picked out a fairly small one with a lot of power in it. You'd be able to run mostly anything you wanted with the P650SG for the next couple years I'd say.
Also: take IC Diamond thermal compound and take the 7265ac wireless card if you get the P650SG. If the W230SD, get IC Diamond and the 7260ac. -
I wouldn't recommend the 7339... Its got 960M graphics which is just a faster clocked version of last year's 860M. My personal suggestion would be the 8652 (P650SG as D2 Ultima recommended).
Even better, I'd get the 8268-S... No board soldered CPU.D2 Ultima likes this. -
The sole reason I did not recommend that is because it is I believe over 6 pounds, which breaks his asking qualities.Ethrem likes this.

Its a worthwhile trade off though but yes, good point.

Oh it is, don't get me wrong. There is no other good line on the planet than the PxxxSM-A and PxxxZM from Clevo. If you must go integrated, might as well get Clevo as well. Halogod's AW17 R2 experience was just atrocious; I have to tell people to AVOID alienware now. MSI would be second, as ASUS is awful to access the internal parts and the layout of the M.2 drive and the HDD means you can't use the M.2 slot and the SATA 3 HDD slot at the same time, and if you change the location of the drives, your warranty is shot.
But if it's one thing I've learned is that when people want something light, selling them something heavy is no good. The best thing you could do is say "that's the best for your weight class. There's better, but too heavy for you", which I did do in my first reply. He has not bitten the bait, so...Ethrem likes this. -
Its 6.8 pounds according to NotebookCheck... I don't even want to know what my 9377 weighs lol. Although its far less than my M17xR1 for sure (unless you count the weight of the two bricks that is). I guess I just got used to gaming = heavy.
-
It's ~9 pounds with both GPUs in. My D900F was 13 pounds + power brick. Surprised the hell out of the UPS person when I had to ship it back; I told them the shipping box was 21 pounds of shipping weight when I got it. She said it's not possible for a laptop to weigh that much and she wanted to see what would XD.
I personally don't mind the weight of this one, nor the weight of my D900F. The power more than made up for it. Nobody with a mITX + monitor + peripherals could shove it all into a backpack and walk like I can. -
Yeah I used to bring my Alienware to work every day... Nothing quite like playing WoW while making sales... You kind of get used to carrying it around after awhile and it feels unnatural to carry anything lighter.
Anyway, those are the suggestions from me for the OP
Which sager/clevo notebook should I get? (See Details)
