    Hi All

Onboard sound for the D900F connected to audio-technica AD900s leaves much to be desired.

Ive been reading some threads but need more help

So far my choices appear as such

30 dollar Creative xi fi go usb

Echo Indigo IO (expressc card) $180aud

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook $170aud

    TASCAM US-122MKII USB 2.0 2-channel Audio/MIDI Interface which i think is around the 200AUD

    ECHO Audiofire 2 400aud

    or

    iBasso D4 Mamba USB-DAC/Headphone AMP around 300aud

Im not going to be making any music, some counter strike source and being able to use those headphones to their full potential(music and yes i have a good ear), whats the best option. Also that amp/dac does that mean the internal sound card is still used ?

    Cheers

im using the x-fi usb and i have to say its great, good enough really, i never tried other sound cards but id say save the money and get a simple usb card.
Especially for gaming, using a simple in-ear earphones makes gaming so much eaiser for you, i hear the footsteps so clearly.

Ok, well the USB Xi Fi doesn't use the Xi Fi chip. and all the rest are only 2 channel sound. so there is basically nothing available if you want good quality mutli-channel sound.
I have a firewire port and expresscard slot doing absolutely nothing on my D900f. Be good if there was a great sound card available, as i'd buy it.
