    Hi all,

I've had my Lotus P151 for about two months with no issues. Today however I got back to my apartment only to hear a high-pitched sound, which after some searching realized was coming from my laptop.

The sound is only made when the laptop lid is closed. Disabling the mic does nothing, but disabling the speakers silences it.

Any idea of how to solve this issue?

I've never heard of this happening, but the only thing I can think of is interference. The WiFi antennas are located in the lid, so that may be a source of interference with the speakers.

Someone else might have a better guess though.

It seems to only happen when the volume is set to max/near max, and takes a few seconds to really kick in. Strange.

Ya, the p151s are steam powered. When you close the lid, the steam cant escape and starts to whistle. Shoulda read the fine print!

try putting a layer of tinfoil between the screen and rest of the system next time you close it. It should act as a bit of a cage (not ideal by any stretch). If the sound doesnt happen, its interference. If it does happen, then no conclusion can be drawn.
