I've been jumping back and forth between these notebooks for a week now. I plan on using them for gaming primarily. I'd like to be able to play Starcraft 2 and Darkfall online when they come out soon. However, the system reqs are unknown for these games and I don't know if crossfire would even be supported.

Obviously, the M17/whitebook would perform better but what if neither of these games support crossfire? It would perform worse than the Sager and the extra $$ would be for nill. Also, the M17/whitebook has the potential to upgrade to the 48XX series when they roll out making it scale for the future a little better.

Can anyone sway me either way? Do I gamble and potentially waste $ or gain performance? Do I play it safe spending less with still a decent laptop?

I'd really like to snag something but I'm scared to pull the trigger.

dropped this same post in the OCZ forum so I don't get stuck in any bias.... :)

Your choosing between a 15" and a 17" laptop. The dynamic is very great in that consideration alone. What exactly do you want? A powerhouse with the ability to carry around easily. Or a super powerhouse that is not as mobile, but will give you more power overall?

Honestly, from the looks of it, seems your just looking for power and thats it. With that assumption, I'd direct you to the Whitebook. Its a good price and a powerful system.

The 8660 should only be considered if you want power that can easily be carried around.

I'm with Deathwinger. Exactly because I don't want to accidentally killed someone or myself on my way to school.
