Who has the NP8662/MT860ETU in stock?

I just found out that I won't receive the MT860ETU until mid May- Has anyone gotten theirs yet? If so, which vendor?

I guess the shortage of the GTX260M is what's holding everyone back---

 

Have you called Sager/XoticPC/Powernotebook?

 

Are they stocked up? Last time I emailed XoticPC they said last week of April- But those may already be for filling backorders.

 

If they say the end of April, it's the end of April.

Back orders are stacked up to the point that new orders cannot ship for 2-3 weeks...the only thing to do is get your order in and get in line. Orders will only be filled in the order in which payment is received.

It doesn't matter what dealer you order from, or Sager directly. Sager is the only one that controls the stock...dealers don't stock them...when an order comes in from any source it is given a Sager order number, and that is the order in which they will be shipped.

 

I figured as much-- It's just the waiting... It's killing me--

Hehe, I wish more people besides RJTech and RKComputers sold barebones.
Can anybody advise other places where we can buy barebones from?

Pro-Star's ship delivery is May 07th according to the notebook configurator(since they have to build and test I guess).

I'm trying to determine from RJTech if the date they gave me (May 11 or 12) is the ship date or the date the laptop I'll receive the laptop. If it's the former, I just may say "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead (order 1 day ship)."

 

I think it changed to the first week of May a week or two ago.

 

My NP8662 order delivery time keeps on getting shifted further back. By the time I receive it, the hardware will be outdated.

 

The hardware was already outdated by the time Clevo made the laptop because the Intel, Nvidia, and ATI labs were already working on something new to release in the months to come.

I'm un-patiently waiting for my order to be stocked.

 

I finally got a confirmation from RJTech. The laptop will ship May 11th or 12th. I told them to ship it overnight(otherwise, I would have had to wait another week to arrive at my house).

Shipping cost? From free to $100.99-- Which brought the total price the same price as the 17" OCZ whitebook on sale from Newegg-- $1199--

Oh well- I think it's worth it. The wait has been killing me...

 

I\m thinking of getting that whitebook. Would anybody say my Sager NP5796 is better than the whitebook?

 

Timeline:

9 April - ordered my np8662 from XoticPC
14 April - payment processed, order scheduled for delivery
17 April - notified of backorder, ETA "end of month"
4 May - called to inquire about order status, notified unit is in production already
5 May - notified that unit has shipped, trackable via UPS

No idea if that info helps anyone.

Where did you order from?

Just called over to Xotic: The 8662 was pushed back by another week. Again.

 

Ordered 8662 from Xoticpc on Apr 20. Just told I am now in Phase 2 (on the way to skinning facility) so a new shipment must have recently arrived.

 

So did you NOT get a notification about phase 2?
I ordered the 11th, if elbig's status is any indication, I sure hope they just haven't gotten around to emailing me

 

i Ordered the 8662 on apr 20th as well. XoticPC told me they waiting until may8th to receive the product into stock and start assembly

 

Perhaps is has something to do with differences in our builds.

 

I've had an order placed with RJtech for a week and I was told the 8th too. It doesn't seem to be related to what configuration you have but possibly the time you got in the ordering queue.

 

I ordered mine March 31st and it just shipped this Monday! And I'm expecting it Thursday.

 

That could be the reason. I ordered 1680 x1050 screen, 4gb mem, 320gb 7200 HDD, P8700, Vista home premium, custom skin. I wonder if I should have ordered the P9600 but my assumption is that for games the GPU will be the limiting factor.

 

Ok.. I know this completely isnt your fault and you have nothing to do with it, but how do you order your machine 2 days after me and then get it built and sent out before mine supposedly even enters the facility?

This kind of thing right here is just not cool.

After ad experience on my side, I would suggest you disregard the urgency of getting the laptop now and focus on the pre-during and after sales care. read the forums.

I vote XoticPC, not because I experienced bad things from other retailers but because I experienced such awesomeness from them

That's correct. When I called on 4 May, I was told something along the lines of "had not been set to update automatically" or some such. Since my np8662 was in production, I was inclined to ignore the oversight.

 

Ah okay, that makes me feel better. I also received a notification on the 17th but have heard nothing since then.
