Hey guys! I may be a potential owner of a lovely Sager np9150 soon, but I just want to know what made you guys pick the sager np9150/clevo p150em over other choices? It helps to have more input as to why it's a good buy! Thanks guys :)

    Price/performance, quality, simple appearance.

Compare Alienware which is $300-$400 more, MSI is comparable in price, but the Sager has a simple aesthetic, no extra lights, funky design cues, etc. (obviously personal preference there).

Coming from an Asus G73jh, I was planning on getting a new Asus. But it seems they went from having top-end machines for a good price to average machines for an average price. Plus it's a pain to get inside the laptops. So I went with my NP9170 and love it.

That's another good point. Sagers are easy to upgrade and access all the components. Not to mention great cooling, although their ideas at times seem to not be fully realized.

The only thing you should be wary about is the audio isn't the best out there.

For the record, Alienware is incredibly easy to upgrade too! I only have to pull out two screws to access everything underneath. What truly draws me to Sager is how cleverly elusive the brand can be. At first, it's apparently a simple work laptop. But as soon as those fans start kicking and those brilliant screens starts shimmering, people do tend to notice the subtle monster! ;)

At the time, I bought it because the only two manufacturers with the 7970m were Alienware and Sager (and I think this is still the case). Alienware was over priced for the same hardware found in Sager laptops, so I went with Sager. It is a high quality laptop that lives up to the industry standard.

As stated they're pretty high quality machines, fairly rugged for how nice of hardware you're getting inside. And speaking of, that reminds me, it's all inside. Sure now they have a light up keyboard, but you can turn that off or set it to all a single color, diminishing the flashyness. My laptop without branding looks pretty sleek and plain, nothing super fancy or exceptional in any way. But as mentioned, once the fans kick in and some work gets loaded up this thing can really put out.

For me it was price and appearance. Alienware cost up to $1000 more than clevo for the same spec (in Australia).
And if you're over 16 years old they look horrific

I know there's a your mom joke in that last sentence somewhere. :p

Sorry, hung out with an old friend today fishing and we were acting like a couple of teenie boppers... what can I say... your mom jokes, while overly immature, are still funny to me to this very day.

    Carry on folks...

Yeah count one more for aesthetics and price... used to think Alienware looked cool when I was younger but now I prefer the sleek, low-key look of the Sager... pretty much a matter of tastes I suppose

Sager's being by the far the lowest in price was the determining factor in my purchase decision. If I had the extra $300+ for an Alienware I likely would have purchased one of those but alas money does not grow on trees these days. That being said aside from the current 7970 issues I am quite pleased with the build quality, but less so with Sager's lackluster response to the 7970 issues.

Yeah +1. I can take my Clevo to a meeting and still appear to be at least a little bit professional ;)

To me the thing that clevo offers is customized computer at (remember this part) reasonable prices.

Look you can get almost all the same options with others like alienware but the price you will pay will be insane unless you haggle well / get lucky.

With clevo you pay for what you get for the most part. No funny pricing where they make insane markups on upgrades like a SSD. I mean really Dell / alienware always want way more than the price of a whole new component just to get an upgrade. Which is why most frugal buyers just go after the core parts that are expensive / hard to upgrade and then buy all the rest themeself.

With clevo / sager you get the care free option of ordering exactly what you want for a reasonable price not matter what you get.

In all honesty, I don't think I'll be buying anything other than Sager (or well, another Clevo) or MSI.
I received my Sager 10 days ago and have experience with MSI through a friend and they really don't compare to anything I've ever seen before, price included. Clevos though look more professional and are even more upgradable.
