This might seem like a stupid question, and probably has a really simple answer, but I always wondered:
If Clevo is the company that makes the actual chassis, and Sager is just a reseller like others (from what I could see), why are Clevo models also known, sometimes primarily, by Sager names?
I mean, there's other resellers that change the name of the Clevos and call them other names, but those names don't become widely known or even replace what the actual Clevo model name is.. So why use Sager names?

It creates a brand identity for sager.

Also, perhaps you need to start your own laptop retailer in Trinidad and Tobago?.

Now there is some nostalgia, a via chipset and athlon 64. Back in the days intel had competition.

If they are selling an actual "Sager" branded computer then they would be a Sager reseller. If they are not but also include "Sager" in their name it could be just so they get more search results since a lot of people do search for the Sager model number.

Especially if you keep prices competitive. Oh, and allow users some modification allowance. My 780Ms for example NEED the modified vBIOS or I cannot use 120Hz. I get graphical glitches otherwise, and my PC is a 3D model. 120Hz is literally the selling point. If you were to void my warranty for that, that's no good. Also, you can ask Prema to make unlocked system BIOSes for you (with your logo etc), and I dunno, charge like +$20 or so for a user to get an unlocked BIOS on their machine? A lot of us are gonna do it anyway, to be honest. Might as well offer it as an option, and then there's no risk of a user bricking their machine to do it.papusan and iBUYPOWER - Jason like this.
Why do Clevo models have Sager names too?
