Sadface, so i ordered form Xotic and found out that Eurocom had the x9000 option and the Gtx option. I looked in power and darksmiley? and they were all limited to up to the t9600 and the GTS. I dont' know how im feeling right now=/

I guess you should have gone Eurocom? :|
XoticPC and other Sager resellers seem to keep within a thermal budget to cover their tails. However, Eurocom pushes the envelope. But at least the consumer is protected as they cover you even if something goes wrong with the laptop or the components. -
At any rate, Xoticpc only provides options that its supplier, Sager has. Since Eurocom obtains its own barebones from Clevo, it is not restricted to the options that Xoticpc is.
However, while some of the options offered by Eurocom may not be officially supported by Clevo, Eurocom has a duty to its customers to support these options since they offer them. -
Well, if you're that unhappy, and you're still within the 30-day window for a no-questions-asked return, why not return the one you ordered, and take a chance on the one you want from Eurocom?
As to the reason for the different options, XoticPC (like Powernotebooks and a number of other resellers) sells Sager-branded Clevos; Eurocom imports directly from Clevo, not through Sager, and thus sells Eurocom-branded Clevos and, as such, is in a position to determine what options it will support - XoticPC and the other similar resellers are not in a position to do that. -
ic, well i thought about returning my m860tu but i decided not to, because i just dont' have the patience to return and wait.
-
its actually not a good idea to have the 9800M GTX in the M860TU.... it will have heating issues.
So most vendors will not have that option to prevent damage. -
Hum, Eurocom are Canadians
But seriously, even if its uner garantee by Eurocom, the heat might be a problem. And also, its overpriced. Who can afford a X900? -
Eurocome doesn't offer The 9800GTX on the M860TU, at least not on their website. They do however offer the 8800GTX.
But from what I have read the 9800GTX isn't really worth the money over and above the 9800GT -
You're the judge

But for Americans, Eurocom is starting to be a good option because of the currency: 1CAD = 0.81 USD. -
Ya I dunno, depends on what you're after I guess. Personally I'm not sure if the extra cost is worth an average of 2-3 fps.
But I can't really talk with the x9100 and 8gb ramAnd if they would've offered the 9800GTX I would've got that too.
-
For the extra you paid on the Extreme process, I would have prefered investing on a larger laptop, i.e. 17'', and get SLI or Crossfire. Btw, how many hours get you get from your battery with a 3.06GHz?
-
Ya I wanted as much power as possible in a small frame and this thing is as good as it gets.
Honestly though my M860TU is supposed to arrive via purolator Today
As soon as I get it all loaded up with Vista 64 I'll do a few benchmarks, then I'll probly undervolt it right away and see what that does for my battery and temperatures. The only thing I'm worried about is not being able to OC too much....or at all because of temps, but I have been working on the ultimate laptop cooler. So I'll just have to wait and see what kind of difference the cooler and the SSD make to my temps as compared to others.

i wanted x9000 and 8800gtx = / im gonna go steal scourges rig = )
-
(maybe that's the case right now
). That's gonna be interesting to see what happens with OC. I think that simply putting an X9000 is already OCing this laptop
. You'll be the first user here with an Extreme CPU on this rig. I would really like to hear about the battery life when equipped with this
Why does Eurocom not have same spec options as Xotic
