Eurocom is not a Sager reseller - they're a separate importer from Clevo.

Here's a screen-clip from the June 2007 Clevo service manual for the D901C showing the various LCD units used in that model:

The one thing that I'm not crazy about this screen is:
    Dell 1720 computer

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=170272

    Like isn't the 1720 a old computer, i don't get that?
It makes me feel like my systems has a old screen looking at this crap!

omg vato....talk about buyers remourse....you might as well just sell the unit if you feel the way you do with all this stuff.

ever heard of a ford tarus?
the vehicle had the same body for many may years, but each model year had updates and imporovements over the previous.
just like the lcd screen you reference i bet.
it may be the same model number, but i bet it has been improved since it inception....

    food for thought

Let's keep one thing clear and not confuse cheaper prices with poor quality. Sager offer excellent notebooks with outstanding quality at a better price than AW.

Dude, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Many of us find Alienware products overly ostentatious. Flashing lights, gaudy alien head logo, if that's what you prefer....pfffttt.... go 'head and put down that extra $$$$$$. Give me a Clevo D901C with Quad Core 9650, SLI 9800GT, 3 HD's for $2000 bucks less.

I probably would have gotten the sager, but they don't finance, so i had to go with dell first, but they where a FN NIGHTMARE, then i had went with AW only cuz they have financing.

But i still think that a sagers specs are way more worth it!

btw, i like the keyboard lights when I'm in a dark place, it helps HUGE!

You can obtain financing if you have a PayPal account and the Sager reseller offers PayPal as a payment option.

XoticPC offers kind of financing, you pay monthly but you don't get your laptop until it's all paid up. =(

Here's how I would do it if I didn't have all the funds readily available. I would apply for a new credit card, the ones that gives you certain incentives such as no interests for 90 days, etc... Pay for the notebook with this credit card and pay the debt off before the no interest grace period expires. I did this a few times during my college days.

Here's how you can get financing through any merchant that offers PayPal (this includes myself and XoticPC):

    1. Sign up for a PayPal account (if you don't already have one).

    2. Sign up for the PayPal Plus Credit Card ( https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_bc-signup&channel=1&promo=503).

    3. Buy whatever you want and make monthly payments.

For more information, contact PayPal (as I did). I've had customers use this before, and they've found it an easy way to finance their PCs.

Yeah, but with PayPal, you'd have to pay monthly interests. There are plenty of credit card companies out there who will give you zero interests on purchases for a period of time, usually 90 days, if you just sign up.

Very true, but depending on who you buy from, you can get the same deals off PayPal. If you don't have/want a PayPal account, a different credit card may be a better choice.

if he could get a CC, i would think paypal would then be the last place he would go....
seems a bit stupid imho to get a CC thru paypal just to make payments to paypal then to the vendor, when all you need is the CC to begin with....

    just me i guess... :D

Well, my understanding is this, It cost more to manufactor poor build quality, therefore AW needs to charge that "little" bit extra to get it right.

I wouldn't say Clevo has poor build quality, need I point out again that voodoo use clevo shells?

I think Clevo is just more efficient at manufacturing and cost less for Clevo to maintain the different needs of the company... Not to mention that Clevo makes more laptops to drive down the cost...

U think AW is poor quality?

The m17x looks pretty FN solid to me, it's so FN HARD to bend the panel around the keyboard, u would think it's steel!

He was probably referring tot he M15x. While it isn't a flimsy lappy, it certainly isn't rock solid either. I'd say it's average at best.

well, personally I can't claim that, but from reading post after post (after post) of ALL the complaints of the m15x falling apart, I can only gather that AW is no longer the premium that they used to be.

Perhaps Dell should of never bought them.

yeah that makes me sick that FN DELL BOUGHT THEM, I THINK AW made a big mistake!

Dell should stick to dell, why ruin it for AW!
I have a feeling that AW uses some of dells parts no matter what anyone says!

We live in a world of GREED, anyone will do anything just to make a buck$$$

I actually thought it was a good thing Dell bought Alienware up, they've sucked *** since I heard about them. Systems overheating, poor support, horrible customer service.

I thought (hoped) by becoming mainstream Dell might be able to iron out some of their wrinkles.

But you certainly can't blame current AW owners' predicament on Dell's acquisition. It would probably have been worse for them if AW was still independent.

I mean hey, the M17x is a hit isn't it?

Thats because Dell didn't have a hand in the m17x, they've already got their XPS 17in Gaming notebook. However, Dell doesnt have a 15in, so I can see it, AW starts on the m15x and Dell says "hey... let me have a look at that", before you know Dell is building their 15in Gaming XPS, and after they got done, they said "This one aint gonna cut it, well just sell it under are new AW line."

Well lets see, after tuition, rent, books, and all of that jazz, I don't have that kind of money to drop $1600-$2400 on a laptop all at once. Maybe a <$1000 laptop, but I refuse to buy those laptops until 128bit gpu's are eliminated. :)

If the M860tu is really out of my price range, I'll just get one of those dv5t's (128bit 9600m :( ) hopefully sell it, and get something nicer, but I donnno...

During college, I was in your same predicament, didn't have the money to pay for a computer all at once. Had about 2/3 of it but after budgeting, I figure I could do some monthly payments and pay it all off in a few months through financing. As a poor student, I didn't wanna have to pay any unreasonably high interest rate. I looked around and found out that there are a bunch of credit card companies that gives you an interest free period (usually 90 days), in my case it was 6 months, when you sign up. I bought my computer, made the monthly payments and paid it all off without any interest accrued.

I'm in Toronto and used XoticPC; at the time, EC were waaaay overpriced (by like 30%) which hurt my brain .. why? So it was easy to go to XoticPC, pay shipping, and still cost less than from a guy a few hours drive away.

I hear EC is on top of pricing better now (especially with the CDN dollar being strong), so in the future I'll have to check them out.. I don't mind a few hours drive to get a killer lappy :)

The worst at the time was Widow PC .. it was a older Clevo model, for like 50% more than anywhere else (except maybe Falcon NW, who was also insanely priced.)

So the lesson is -- Clevo has a lot of resellers, and their prices vary enormously; look around and do your research.,

    <heart> XoticPC

Wow, if you need financing, it pretty much means you really don't need a laptop like this. Save up and buy it later when you can afford it. Or else sell your AW. I'm sure someone would want it on ebay.
