Why wouldn't you get a Sager?

I saw the light sometime last year when I first heard about Sager's (CLEVO) notebooks. I know they come in various formats depending on which reseller is offering them but my question is why after knowing what you get for the price would anyone not get the NP5793 for example?

I was originally a Dell fanboy and still like some of their new computers but when looking at a simple comparison pound for pound the NP5793 blows away anything out there. Sure you could get a similarly configured lappy from Dell or Alienware or a few others but they are all significantly higher priced among other things.

I know some of you might be a bit biased since after all this is a Sager Forum but I just don't see the logic of spending hundreds of dollars if not more for the same machine.

Maybe it's aesthetics, sure that could play a role but only to a point, name recognition maybe another reason why some people go with another much more expensive vendor. Other than that I just don't see why you simply wouldn't get a Sager once you know they exist as it happened to me.

I'm just about to buy a Sager myself. The NP5793 from XoticPC. And this PC has further confirmed my decision. So thank you Santizo :) You've been very encouraging. Also, I think, other than the personal nameplate, the Sager looks way hotter than the latest Alienware Area 51.

Because they're (for the most part) heavier and larger?
For example, the NP2092 is over a pound heavier and 0.2-0.5 inches thicker than the XPS m1530.

EDIT: Obviously, for gamers who don't carry the laptop around a lot, Sager could be a good choice. But for students, businessmen, or anyone else that demands portability, Sager is usually not worth considering.

    Better question..
Why wouldnt you buy your Sager from Xoticpc or Powernotebooks?

Xoticpc rocks and took care of my every need. ( zero dead pixel without the pixel warranty too sorry megabud!)

Both Donald and Jason are here all the time answering our countless questions..

Yes, portability is the only reason.

Although the definition of portability is weird.

Moving from table to table with an AC outlet nearby = all laptops equally portable, regardless of size, unless you simply do not have the arm strength to lift 15-20 pounds.

I think the only real issue for portability ( for most people ) is battery life, so do not get the 9262 is you will be off of the AC outlet haha.

I don't think 1 pound and .5 inches changes the portability of a notebook, in my opinion.

I would either get a large laptop for portable power, or a 3 pounder with no optical drive, for portability. IE, one that I could carry on trips, so i can have cellular internet and set up shop every few hours in different restaurants/cafes etc to download photos from my camera or to check email / directions etc.

In that case, I wouldn't want to do that with much of a bigger laptop than 12.1".

Count me in as a Sager fanboy now.

And just as a small perk ... the Dell comes w/a 6-cell battery standard, the 2092 from Xotic 9-cell
