because i hear they run hot, so im thinking that the extra space inside the bigger laptop will allow some more airflow instead of keeping things congested like a 15" would? therefore contributing to less overheating and more reliability.

that really depends on a specific notebook's cooling design.
some 17-inchers still over heat.
The current Clevo models (15"-17") have not had any issues with overheating with the 9800M videocards.... so I would not worry about that. -
so all the sagers right now should have no problems?

It more depends on the colling system inside of the notebook. But yes, sometimes, a 17 will run cooler than a 15. In my experience they do, but no huge difference between a dv6700t and a dv9700t. Same cooling systems, different sizes. Mine runs a little cooler.

Everything else being equal (which, of course, usually, they aren't
), a 17" will run cooler than a 15" because there's more room for airflow; however, that can always be fixed by some kludgy design, if that's what you wish. With respect to Clevo systems, the 17" systems do not appear to have any systemic heating issues.

just keep the laptop off the "bed" and you'll be fine.
Will a 17" laptop run cooler than a 15" with the 9800m video cards?
