I'm thinking in upgrading my GTX 765m to the 980m, however I read here that it is recommended to use cards from Clevo. Will a nvidia gtx 980m taken from a MSI gt72 6qe work with a Clevo P150sm by flashing a Prema Mod BIOS?

    Thanks for the help!

It will even work without flashing, I actually have a GT 72 and used the exact card (which is a 4GB version btw) in my P157SM without any issues and full performance and without touching the vBios.

Well I actually had asked a few months ago if the 4GB version would work and I was told no. Anyway, my model is older than yours, so that's why you didn't need to flash. I think the motherboard in mine is not compatible with the 900m series without flashing first.

    Thanks anyway!

I guess I was mistaken xD. Anyway, the seller lists the card having 8GB memory, but searching for his laptop model, all come with 4GB memory. However, his model is actually the 8 GB one.

that just means the card is probably a clevo card anyways.

Also, I would still upgrade the BIOS with prema mod if i were you,the BIOS gives much more options, fixes problems like card not getting enough power and fan profiles.

Hey! I just bought the card, however I can't get access to Prema's website. Should I try and contact him to get the BIOS?

    Cheers,

Hey! Just installed the new card and it's working like a charm. I only used a modded .inf file for now. Is there any other advantage to use the vBIOS beyond overclocking?

    Cheers

It will run with more stable clocks with custom vbios.

Do you have anything for the 870M graphics card?
