I really want to get a Sager gaming notebook but I'm waiting for my credit card to arrive and was wondering if the 485m will be gone by then or still available thanks!

Unfortunately there is no definitive date it will be phased out. As long as your card shows up soon you should be ok. I assume your card is on the way to you?

Sometimes you can call customer service at your card company and they may be able to give you the card # that was mailed to you.

Hi, we will have the 485M for at least another week, but if you want to be on the safe side - we can also reserve a 485m for you until your credit card arrives, so that you are guaranteed to get one. :)

My card won't arrive until Thursday at the latest, and they won't give me the card number because I have to activated it when I get the card.

Someone told me that I can still get a matte screen upgrade with the NP8150 even though it is not listed on your website, is that true?

Hi, thanks... and to answer your other question, our Lotus P150HM which is equivalent to the 8150 has a gorgeous, matte screen upgrade. If you have any other questions, please drop us a PM and we'll be glad to help out! :)

    Thanks Malibal and Xoticpc

I was actually wondering and a bit nervous but what does it mean by "user upgradable"? Does this mean that if I order the laptop with the 485m, I have to install it myself? I know it a dumb question but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Hi, no you don't have to install it... user upgradeable means that you have the ability to upgrade the GPU in the future - when a newer graphics card comes out. :)

Thanks Malibal for the quick reply!

Another question I have is the lotus is the exact same thing as the Sager NP8150 is that correct? Only differences is has Malibal logo on instead of Sager, therefore any review for the Sager NP8150 apply to the Lotus, is that correct? I know about the sticker and plate name so no worry there.

I don't understand the different resellers, do you guys work the same way as powernotebook and xoticpc or do you guys buy bare bone sager parts and get other parts and build your laptop? I need to find that old thread that show different type of sager resellers, that part a bit confusing for me.

It's the same exact laptop with a different name.

EDIT: And, the work the same way that Xotic does, their laptops are still made by Sager.

As I understand it, all the laptops/barebones start at Clevo with names like P151HM1, P150HM, P170HM, etc. Many of these laptops will then be sent to Sager for additional components and branding. These Sager branded laptops are then sold by resellers such as Xoticpc, Powernotebooks, etc. Malibal is a bit different, as they resell laptops directly from Clevo, adding components and branding themselves, instead of Sager. So basically, NP81XX and P1XXHM models are the same barebones laptops with the same hardware, just configured/assembled by different companies (Malibal or Sager).

I thought the above was true, but turns out it isn't:

So they are all the same, just different names.

    Hope this helps.

Yes but it is actually a clevo not a sager, because it uses the clevo bios

Today or tomorrow and yes I would have gotten what you have, but my parents would let me spend that much of my money. I actually had to convince them to let me get a new laptop. The determining factor was the number of motherboards that had burned up in my dell. The funny thing is now it runs cool and fine, and lately I overclocked its graphics, its clocked stock at 450 core and 700 mem and I overclocked it to 600 and 915, with only + 3 degrees c. And I get 3 fps in 3dmark06 instead of 0 with stock so its pretty beast. 988 3dmarks woot

My mom is like get a gaming laptop and then she like well it your money, do what you want with it ;) (I don't even know how she knew I wanted a gaming laptop)

This might sound ironic but when I have games to play I tend to do better in school then without it, and therefore it a no brainer for my parents.

I don't really want to spent any more money but I would love to get a SSD drive now that I know what it is, maybe a possible future upgrade.

    Thanks Malibal

Your customer service is quite something else!

Excuse me but what is BAMF?

I have to agree that the customer service at Malibal is amazing. People in other threads have talked about the reps being rude and condescending. That's rubbish. The reps answered emails immediately (even on holidays) and were polite and helpful on the phone. Nothing but good things to say about the company and the laptop they are sending my way.

Haha BAMF is the name aduy has given to his gpu...

    I'll explain it more:

Clevo Co. in Taiwan, make barebones. They sell it all over the world on Minimum Order Quantity of 100-300 (depending to the system value) to : Rebranders & Distributers

Rebranders like SAGER build their systems on the barebones and sell it directly to end -users or via reseller like XOTICPC, or just brand the barebone without building it to a complete system and sell it to System Builders (who use "SAGER" as name of their systems)

Distributers sell to System Builders (who use "CLEVO" as name of their systems) and to small Rebranders (who use their own name)
