    Very very odd....

Not sure if it's the driver or what, but I thought I had broken my headphone jack, but ended up disassembling it and popping the pin back into place. No big deal. It was working perfectly fine on Linux.

Fast forward to now, using Windows 8, it's not functioning at all. Anyone else have this issue? Any remedies?

Does it still work on Linux? And have you updated the chipset driver and audio driver for Windows 8?

Works fine on Linux. As far as updating, I'm using whatever driver is from early November/late October on Sager's site.

If it still works okay on a separate OS, it has to be either a driver problem or it's not configured correctly in the sound settings/playback devices settings.

There really should be nothing to configure. It should be plug-and-play as far as the output is concerned. My guess would be the driver, but I haven't seen anyone else with this issue.

It's almost like Windows doesn't pickup the output though. It recognizes the jack in the settings, but just doesn't seem to use it.

You may want to double check the properties in the volume mixer and playback devices, just to be sure that the output is being defaulted to the auxiliary device. I know it sounds redundant, but then you can rule out that it's not the system settings for the sound. Try reloading the driver for now and see if that helps (likely cause with Windows 8).

If you're able to still test it on Linux with no problems, then I would guess it's the driver.
