Will clevo and sager continue to support
Windows 7 on the new Haswell notebooks with regular driver updates?

We actually just got word that they finalized their Win 7 drivers yesterday I believe, so they're fully supported currently. As for drivers going forward, Sager typically doesn't update the drivers themselves, but you can download them directly from the manufacturer of the hardware. That support is solely up to the individual manufacturers.

Support is generally geared more towards hardware, as that is what manufacturer warranties cover. But yes, Windows 7 will still be supported.

Excellent to hear. Glad to see Win 7 still supported because I will avoid Win 8 with every ounce of effort I can afford.

Trying hard to avoid but it's a uphill battle. Win 8.1 should be out soon so it's going to be even tougher.

On the bright side there are good start screen replacements to tie us over and win 8 handles power states better

Yeah, I think we can leave XP to RIP now guys ;)

Once 8 is modded to your preference it's a very nice OS.

XP Mode works well enough for me, but a lot of consumers are still trailing with XP for one reason or another. It's like Microsoft's golden child.
