Is it possible? I've wasted quite a bit of time trying to figure this out. Doesn't seem possible...

With many OEM machines you have to disable UEFI boot due to the SLIC, but with Clevo that's not the case. So yes: you can use Windows 7 with a UEFI boot.

Really? I spent literally like 19 hours trying to do it and I'm pretty tech savvy. I've tried USB and DVD. No go. I get this no matter what I try:

    Code:
    File \EFI\Microsoft\boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc000000d
I finally just said f it this isn't worth it and installed normally. I've scoured the internet and every time someone runs into this problem, they've given up because nobody can figure it out. Sevenforums has a 25-page thread devoted to it that I wasted my time reading, because in the end, the people there couldn't figure it out and the guy asking for help just gave up.

I'm talking about a Sager machine.

Prostar in this thread, you said it can't be done without modifying the stock BIOS:

Prema said the same thing in this thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/724628-sager-np9150-uefi-windows-7-problem-2.html

Is there someone here that's actually done it on the new 82xx Sagers?

I know it can't on W230ST without a modded BIOS.

Well in the end with windows 7 there really is not much of a difference.

    That's subjective.

Even if there was only a 10ms difference in booting, I still want the option.

Anyway, I contacted my reseller, and he said that Windows 7 is not natively compatible with UEFI (at least in Clevos/Sagers). You need to enable CSM which simulates the way Windows 8 would do it, but if that option isn't there in the BIOS, it can't be done.

I should have elaborated more: OEMs tend to utilize the SLIC, which hard codes the Windows 8 key into the BIOS. Under those circumstances you cannot install Windows 7 within UEFI. Clevo machines don't lock the computer down with that same SLIC/OA 3.0 feature, but you will need the BIOS mod nonetheless. So it's doable, but requires a little tweaking. :)

D'oh and I was just thinking about doing this to my 8250-s as I just noticed that it was setup as legacy mode... which then brings up...b(Actually it was more like trying to find a relatively reliable way to do a more or less in-place conversion from legacy/MBR -> UEFI/GPT...)

Any plans for a 157SM modded BIOS soon? As I'm going to guess that it's likely the same deal as with the W230ST, although I ordered the 8250 w/win7 v. 7330 w/win8...

    Hi.

Can you describe how to create a USB stick that will work ? And what options should I set in (newest) BIOS? I have tried two sticks with RUFUs with multiple combinations of options without any luck :(

    Best regards.

I have Windows 7 UEFI but at the start of boot it displays Vista loading bar rather than Windows 7's original logo. I have installed UEFI with CSM. Do you have any ideas why I can't get proper Windows 7 logo?
