    Having never used windows 7:

Is there anyone successfully running windows 7 on this notebook? Is it even possible? Should I avoid windows 7 like the plague and carry on with XP?
I have the bluetooth & wireless cards installed, but not the tv tuner.

All opinions welcome! (be kind!) :D

I'm on Windows 7 on the M570RU-U, and have been since November 2009. I have to admit I'm not sure how much older the parts in the M570U are, but this machine has been running amazingly well.

    Thanks Renovatio
I'm a bit (lots) worried that I'd pay for the system then find out the drivers don't work.
I use the SD card reader and the infra red and it's easy to imagine that these would get broken....

You should be pretty good, maybe stick to the 32 Bit version?

Try downloading the trial of Windows 7 from THIS THREAD and see how it suits you. You can test it for up to 4 months.

I haven't tried the IR myself, but I have been able to get a driver for it through Windows Update. The card reader works well. You'll even get good Win 7 friendly drivers for the Fingerprint reader if you use it.

That's great news about windows update having drivers. I think I will take the plunge soon.
.....I might try a test run installation on an external disk so that if it all goes pear shaped, I don't loose my XP installation. :)
