    Hi all,

I am in need of your expertise. I just purchase a N151SD with skylake, no windows , with specs as below :

    • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 965M Graphics
    • 6th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 6700HQ Processor
    • 15.6" FHD ANTI GLARE IPS
    • 8G DDR3l 1600MHz

I would like to ask it supports windows 7? As I have an old win 7 original version. Planning to install it and upgrade to win 10.

    Your feedbacks are deeply appreciated.

    Thanks.

I don't know about specific machine quirks with that model but as long as you disable UEFI, Windows 7 should work fine on it. Windows 7 + UEFI = major hassle.

    Hi

Based on the specification of your laptop I think you have an N150RF rather than SD. There are no official Clevo drivers available for this device for Windows 7, however it looks like the same model as the Sager NP7258 and their website does have Win 7 drivers available for the chassis.

The first port of call should always be to the company that you purchased the laptop from, they will be able to advise you best. If they can't help then hopefully another member on here can confirm if what I said above is correct or not - I'm not 100% familiar with the Sager = Clevo model variants.

I believe you can now install Windows 10 by using your Windows 7/8 key (I might be wrong). Unless you have a specific reason why you want to use Windows 7 first, might as well save yourself some time and hassle by going directly to Windows 10.

Actually I forgot about that. As long as it's a full retail key, it should activate Windows 10.

Just do this after installing Windows 10 (leave the product key blank, it won't accept any key except Windows 10 there)

Settings > Update & security > Activation and select Change Product Key and enter your Windows 7 key.

Make sure you install the right version based on your key. Like don't use Windows 10 Pro if you have a 7 Home product key.
