    Title says it all.

I have my monitor to shut off after 10 minutes of inactivity, the monitor goes blank with a black screen but won't shut off completely. It's like the back light in the monitor doesn't want to shut off.

    Any suggestions?

Does the monitor have built in audio? If so the same is still true.

The only other reason the screen would remain on is if something is not allowing the computer to think it's idle.

I had a game controller that also use to cause that.

Anyway open the Intel graphics pro, go to display and change the drop down to audio. If it's saying this display has no audio it's not that. If it does detect audio change the option so audio is not passed when the screen sleeps.

Well next I would say unplug all external devices and see if it still happens. If so it's a program triggering, but I have seen a mouse or game controller etc. cause similar. This would eliminate a device.

Have you gone through the inbuilt settings to make sure it's not something in there?
