Hello there.
I was wondering if more ppl have the same as me that windows 8 runs fine on ,my clevo w150 laptop but when i install the windows 8.1 rtm my computer hangs a lot on the bios screen in uefi mode, when i turn the laptop off and then on again it will boot to windows. I tried to install it with the intel and nvidia drivers i downloaded myself (most recent versions) and with the drivers i get from windows update. with the ones from windows update it was ok for a little while but it started again now. I also read something about disableing the fast boot option in windows and that seems to help but why was it working on windows 8 as well, arent 8.1 and 8 built on the same things?
Thanx for any replies

Havent heard much good things about 8.1 RTM on any brand computers. I'd wait for the actual release so most bugs have been resolved. Or get something now that will get you boot to desktop and the start button back like classicshell.

i will wait yes i already reverted back to windows 8 now.

on my p150sm win 8.1 runs flawless without any issues whatsoever, i only got some BSoDs first which i fixed via installing the latest nvidia drivers and using the intel drivers via update. I then too downloaded the most recent Chipset,IRST and Hotkey Driver for my NB and everything is fine since then.

yeah i was searching for other people with teh same issues but only found a few who had a bit similar things as me, so maybe it does depend on what hardware combination etc you have. no idea to be honest. I just hope that with the retail release the problems i experienced will be fixed. cause when it was working i kind of liked it. except from that weird DPI change thing they have now hehe made google chrome look blurry as and other texts a bit as well imo.
Would you think clevo will release updated drivers for my 2012 NB or will they only do that for 2013 ones? -

Beta is beta after all, report any bugs to microsoft but for now you should stick with 8 for main duties.

I have been running 8.1 (final, not beta) for about a month.
I get insider access to a lot of stuff due to my line of work.
That said I have had 0 issues on my P150HM. I did source all drivers from chip vendors directly to get the latest. A good chunk of them are specifically written for 8.1 but most of the 8 ones wont give you any issues neither.
That said some programs MAY have issues with 8.1
For example I run Symantec Endpoint Protection (corp version) and have to run a beta version to have protection as they are still working on making it compatible. Other programs have no issues.
My BF3 runs great and so does BF4 now lol
It all comes down to driver.
Windows 8 runs perfect windows 8.1 not at all
