I purchased a Sager notebook on 8/24/08 and for the 4th time, I've encountered a Windows boot manager error message. 3 times Sager has replaced the harddrive and it seems to fix the error for a while. Is this a common error on these notebooks? I don't remember which version notebook I've purchased (is there an easy way to tell?). It doesn't allow me to boot using a cd rom. It's mainly for home office use and my kids websites.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Brian

    Here is the error message:
    > Getting: Widows Boot Manager. Windows encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device sucha as an external USB drive while the device is in use or by faulty hardward such as a harddrive or cd rom drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer (I don't have any ext devices connected). If you continue to receive this error, contact the hardward

If the hard drive has been replaced 3 times, it's highly unlikely a mechanical issue with the drive. Try disconnecting your optical drive from your laptop and see if you still get the same error message. I suspect you may have a faulty optical drive since (1) you've mentioned that it doesn't allow you to boot; (2) a removable optical drive can "act" like a USB stick when it's removed.

This POS laptop is frustrating. I took out the hard drive, put it in an external drive box and hooked it up to my desktop to see if anything is recoverable...the drive is all screwed up. It's asking me to format it. Gonna put it back in and take it back to Sager on Monday. 4 times is enough for me...I really hate Sager notebooks.

Windows Boot manager error for the FIFTH TIME!!! Happened on/about 12/30/09. What a piece of this laptop is. I hate this company and want my money back. I'll tell the truth to anyone about this situation and how frustrating it is. I haven't even gotten a response from Sager yet on this FIFTH Windows Boot error message.
    Now isn't this TOO excessive?
Me and my lawyer certainly do.
