I got some message that popped up that said "Windows Service has stopped working." or something like that. I didn't pay it much mind since it was a tiny window. After that Aero stopped working, and I couldnlt pick up wireless networks. I go to restart and now it gets stuck after the "Windows Vista" boot screen. I get a black screen and it eventually restarts the whole thing over. I also tried Safe Mode and Last Known Good Config, but both hung up. Help!

I highly recommend to try to do a CHKDSK C: /F (in command prompt)

Either in Safe Mode or using Recovery Console in Windows Install disc.

It just magically booted on it's own after 2 restarts. What could have caused that?

Possibly a hard drive failure. Run a diagnostic on your hard drive and see what comes up.

it also sounds like it could be the new vista pirate thing.. this is what it did to me even though i have a legit copy.. it went black and went into a boot loop.. i fixed it by booting from the vista dvd and re-entering the key.. may not be this but i know that sounds exactly like what it did to me

Also, why didn't CHKDSK run when I just rebooted? It said it was scheduled for the next reboot.

Ran it as an admin, restarted. I got the boot screen then about 3 minutes of black screen then back to the boot screen and a normal boot. What gives!?

    CHKDSK C: /F

It asks if I want to schedule it on the next reboot, I hit Y, and it says ok.

maybe try chkdsk /r or you could make a boot disk worst case and run chkdsk from that

I would use the Windows Installation disc, go into Recovery Console and do CHKDSK C: /R
