Fair enough; have names been named, though? Sorry, I've been offline for a while, and I'm just trying to catch up on the news the cheap way.![]()

No need to apologize, this is exactly the sort of view that I'm looking at. If it was any other business transaction, there's no way in god's green earth that I would be sending a wire transfer. You literally have ZERO protection. +Rep for playing devil's advocate because sometimes people need to be reminded of the reality.
Unfortunately because of international credit card fraud, XOTIC don't take international credit card =( All the more reason to get better securities added to your cards - the person who decided "hmmm, let's make this card where you can essentially buy stuff with money you don't have, and then let's not get anyone to look at your signature, and then let's not even have a pin!" is crazy, haha. -
Hey I have experience in this, i haven't read all the posts but let me tell u ...
The biggest problem you will face in international orders are the following:
1. If you ordered accessories they might not arrive "like what happened with me" they wont re-ship it because shipping cost about 200$, and good luck getting the money back, about 1 month and some deductions from the banks for commissions...
2. The customs are very nice people, they look at the inventory in the bill and make u pay a fee, so even if the accessories are not there, you will pay. It works by UPS, or whomever is the courier, paying the bill and getting you the package +the bill + the commission for extra service. It is close to impossible for you to go the airport and check every item and tell the customs that it is not there, and the hassle is just too much......
3.Now , the biggest problem would be , didnt happen to me, but if there is any malfunction in your computer, and you have to send it back, customs wont pay the fee u paid, and when/if it is returned the same computer it is a hassle to convince them it is the same object. if they shipped u anther one then u have to pay again, and yeah for internatioal shipping u pay like 500$ extra 2 ways. This is for international order and what would happen to me, if you order in the same country online, i am sure it is a bit differnt.
For me the bad experience is that after ordering i found out that some accessories were not in stock,...too late... yeah and one more thing i wanted to ask u about, i transfered a certain amount of money, say 5200$ + 40$ for bank transfer fee, it arrived 5180 "as far as i remember" because some of the transfer banks took commision "they shouldnt take but they did. now i had to transfer again 20$ + commision more than 20$ just to get them working on my computer =days lost and me pissed off...holding off a 5000+$ for this ....anyways the only good thing coming out of my experience is a great laptop that is working without any problems "thanks god" and it made other stuff bearable.
now it cost me this laptop like 6000$ even more. some of the unexpected fees lost in transfer as i explained above...250$ paid because customs said anything above 3000-10000$ in value has this fixed fee, and 10% =500$ for value added tax and anther 100$ for UPS extra troubles for delivering the laptop and like 50$ paid for items not there
Moral of the story, nothing always goes smooth, hope for the best, and be smart about it....cut ur losses...order the laptop, anything u can buy from shops near you do it even if u have to pay little more....Nobody is trying to cheat or anything like that, but when there are too many parameters in the game, things get complicated because of the many unrelated players.
GOOD LUCK
