1 Built-in 802.11 Wireless B/G/N - Stock Wireless Card + Bluetooth
2 Intel® Advanced-N 6230 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module + Blueooth(+25)
3 Intel® Ultimate-N 6300 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module(+35)
Hey guys, these are the options for wireless cards. I am not too familiar with how the better versions out-perform the stock card. Would you guys feel that the money is worth the upgrade? I am mainly using this laptop with medium-level gaming, school work and video watching.
Thanks!

The main differences is that the 6230 has better range and bluetooth than the stock card, but only 2 antennas for wifi, if you never use bluetooth but care more about range and speed of your internet the 6300 has greater range and a slight better speed due to it having 3 antennas. as far as I know the better options will outperform the stock card but sometimes the difference is minimal.

I decided I wanted to keep the integrated bluetooth (which the 6300 doesn't have), but I wanted to have the best chance of connecting to the wifi in my dorm or classrooms so I upgraded to the 6230.. I believe it has 1 more antenae then the stock (?) and speeds up to 350mps. Not that I own nor use any wireless N tech to utilize those speeds..
I think that $25 is worth knowing that I did what I could to get a good signal/ better range while keeping internal bluetooth.. -
Another way to think about the speed is:
Stock - 150 MB /sec
6230 - 350 MB / sec
6300 - 450 MB /sec
Note the higher speeds need a good router than can handle those speeds. I would go 6230 as its $25 and its a decent upgrade, even if its not one of those things you don't "need" till down the road, you have it for $25 -
The 6230 has a max speed of 350mps with 2 antennae and bluetooth.
The 6300 has a max speed of 450mps with 3 antennae and no bluetooth.
Unless you plan on using the speeds with the required IPS plans and wireless router, its pointless. -
Thanks for the input, everyone. I don't believe I will be obtaining a router that can best utilize the upgraded wireless card. I will be sticking to the stock one since I want to squeeze some more money out for a mouse to go with the laptop.
Once again, thanks guys!
