So I had a weird bug just now in class... Upon resuming from hibernate, the wireless card did not come up. Hitting the wireless on/off function key displayed like it worked on the screen but it didn't work...
From the on position, running a wireless diagnosis in windows it tells you to turn wireless on. From the off position it gave me the option to resolve wireless issue by turning it on. Using that option in the windows network repair wizard made things work.
However I find it weird that the radio on/off button seemed to work in terms of making the indicator light go on and off and showed up in the upper left hand corner of the screen but didn't actually do anything...

it may just have a delay. i know on my school network it sometimes takes forever for anything to happen
-
Nah windows was saying the radio wasn't on even though the system thought it was... Couldn't detect any networks, and 2-3 are available here.
-
Ahhh, it's a problem with Windows and/or the Wifi drivers. It happens to my AspireOne all the time. Just do a full on restart, and it'll come back.
Sleep mode instead of hibernate prevents this from happening for me. -
Hey windkull sorry for the off-topic question but...
how is the experience with the lappy in class? Even though I have a netbook for school I would still like to know =] -
If that doesn't work, a reboot will definitely fix it. (or you could also try run>cmd, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew)
The same thing happens sometimes on my flaky wireless at school/work, though rarely at home. It's generally nothing to worry about. PM me if you have any further issues and I can give you some advanced tips that require more command line stuff. -
Just happened to me again coming off hibernate when I got home, but quick fix seems to be just to run the diagnose problem command from network connections... Kinda annoying that I have to reactivate my network card but only takes all of 10 seconds really...
As for how this thing is in class, its loud enough in my lecture hall that even gaming on this thing no one notices the fans hahaha... As for the weight its really not that much more than my old XPS m1530.
The keyboard is ok, not as good as the XPS but that keyboard was probably my favorite ever for a laptop...
Also I would like my 1920x1200 resolution back because i split screen with OneNote on the left and my browser or a window mode game on the right. Split screen on the old one gave me a few more rows per page to read.
