I am using Intel 6230 wireless nic, and I am having problem with this issue. Everytime a computer wakes up from sleep, instantly there is no internet connection. I cannot confirm yet if entering sleep will cause the internet to be disconnected.

Is anyone else having this problem? How can I solve this? I have tried setting power management in device drivers not to turn it off, but still no go.

wireless connection will always disconnect when you put the laptop into sleep/standby mode.

Sleep mode is supposed to power down most of the hardware on the machine. You can set your ethernet port to wake-on-lan enabled, which will keep it on during sleep- but not your wifi. You'd be sucking down decent battery power to run it while you're sleeping, which is a negative to most people.

As long as it comes back a few seconds after waking up, this is normal behavior.

I'm having the same problem with an Acer...Its not that it goes to sleep, its that once it wakes up wifi does not automatically re-connect as is the case with all my other laptops and netbooks.
