    Hey guys, quick question.

My laptop refuses to shut off completely. The screen is already black, but the lights keep burning. Pressing the "power off" button doesn't help anymore either.

How should I let it shut down? Remove the battery (while the notebook is still working) or just letting the battery drain down?

    Any answer greatly appreciated.

Hold the button down until it shuts down. Check all your power related settings and drivers at next bootup. It seems there is an issue with the shut down command and the actual shut down procedure.

Holding the button was exactly what wasn't working...

Anyhow, I let the battery drain completely, and then it booted up just fine. Perhaps it had something to do with the 181.20 drivers from Dox. They seem to have some weird effects on my notebook from time to time. I'm going to deinstall them just in case, and hope that it was a one-time-issue.

It did throw me for a loop though

It could be...you should investigate. Rollback, try the lappy. I thought the button always works...that was weird....
