Thanks guys --- I'm talking "service" manual, not "user" manual. Looking for a technical service manual.... any out there?
-
Clevo and all of their OEMs keep the service manuals under very close guard. The most Sager has ever done when service information was needed and not in the user's manual is send a screencap with detailed instructions. They prefer to be able to control who has access to the service information so that they can make sure the person opening up the notebook isn't going to destroy it in the process. This leaves more experienced users a bit in the cold, but it cuts down considerably on voided warranties.
-
I downloaded service manuals for my older Clevo (Sager) PCs. I've owned a 5690 (2003) and a 9750 (2005 to present) and have service manuals for them both. If the m570ru manual isn't publicly available yet, I'm sure it will be.
And I agree, having this is very nice for doing routine maintainence and repairs after warranty. -

Can you give us the link where you downloaded them?
You are talking about the service (Assembly/Disassembly) manuals, not the User's manuals...correct? -
Just found this.
http://www.notebookservicemanuals.com/clevo.html -
Notice that these are all older manuals. Even the D900T, which is ~ 3 years old now, isn't on that list. These are systems that are guaranteed to be out of warranty, which is probably why they are being offered.
Notice, too, that you have to pay for each manual. Most service manuals can be tracked down for free, but Clevo doesn't offer that option. -
I haven't purchased from these guys, but a quick google search found that they claim to have a the manual.
http://www.9manuals.com/home-new.htm
And as to where I downloaded the manuals in the past? I don't specifically recall it has been some time, but I would like to say from one of the many forums like this one. -
They don't have the ones we all want: the M570RU and the D900C
-
This is starting to frustrate me. I want to pick up a service manual for my m570ru. I don't mind paying for it. But it's freaking impossible to find.
On a personal level, I'm getting really annoyed with the "don't want to be responsible for someone voiding their warranty" line that vendors give you. I don't care about my warranty, at all. It costs me so much to mail the laptop to another country in the first place that it's cheaper to fix anything that goes wrong myself anyways - and even if not, it's much faster. Gah! Anyone find a link to a site selling/offering the M570RU service (not user) manual, or have one they can share? -
why not just ask one of the vendors that to paintjobs. they will wurely have them.
Ill ask a guy in europe if he will give it up. -
hmm maybe i should write the unofficial version lol..
-
Yea,just accidentaly leave the password for it somewhere
-
I just don't really get the logic behind the whole "Don't give it out, because people will wreck their systems" stuff. Now, maybe it's just me, but I've always thought that people who are going to open up their PC's and fiddle will do so regardless. Why not at least help them to do so with documentation rather than blindly?
Personally, I've a lot of experience playing around with desktop internals, but this is my first notebook - undiscovered country, if you will. -
Tru,but think of it another way:
-if you're terrible at reading or following instructions, you'll mess up
-on the other hand,if you're very good, you might find ways to improve things that otherwise might cost mobo replacements, noisy fan updates etc -
if your a person to be considering opening up a laptop, chances are you are pretty well knowledged and capable of doing it, but just want some guidance as to not break it. thats my way of thinking.
-
Exactly!!
I've opened up laptops in the past and even lapped a heatsink of my friend's lappy(cuz it was getting overheated and all!)!!
So i can say i have quite some experience CAREFULLY fiddling around inside a laptop!! + some safety precautions like anti static gloves nd all!!
acc to me only experienced ppl need the manual as they dont wanna crap up their systems!!
Z! if u have time nd u r not selling ur nb, then u can write one! lol!
but, pls a rep's reply here will be much appreciated!! -
You won't see a rep reply in this , they're not allowed to get the manual.
But I'm sure there are other places to get it ... -
I opened mine up the other day to get the dust out. While it was open, I thought to myself, 'hey, lets see if we can do what zfactor did and get to the audio jacks and see if it's broken'. So, slowly and systematically I started removing screws.
I put them aside with sticky-note labels (chassis, around hard drive, frame, etc) so I would know where I got them from. It really wasn't that hard, mostly just kept missing screws that needed to be removed but were 'hidden' away in some part of the frame I hadn't noticed hehe. I had the whole chassis off except for a few wires that were in the way (attached to something with Intel on it, not sure what it is but it's wires are strung all along the frame and taped into place in a few places), and didn't feel like un-wiring/un-taping everything so I finally gave up and put it all back together again.
Really, thought, it's not that hard, just remember to keep your screws together and organized. For the first time ever with taking a laptop apart, I actually had no screws left over this time! -
yea! organizing ur work properly, esp. the screws helps a lot!!
Once my friend nd me opened up his Toshiba X-205 for cleaning nd were left with 4 screws after putting everything together!! lol!
Thanks sterben for the motivation on opening the nb!!
I guess i need pics! -
yeah guys its not that hard to do..
-
hope this is what you looking for.

I don´t think it´s a SM......
-
Those are warranty statemets lol.
Service Manuals, I know a few people here that have them, but will not share ... -
As in non-rep members??
-
i couldnt get a hold of him. he will be back after the weekend so i will try again then.
-
omg!
u actually know someone who's got M570ru SM???
it would really be very kind of u if u could.... u know! -
ill try my best. i cant promise anything though. ill never speak to him again if he doesnt hand it over though.
I dont see what the big deal is.
When you buy a laptop, it is now your property. you should be allowed to have this documentaion with it as it is for YOUR computer. Its not like its filled with company secrets. Its not like we want the whole guide. ever read one? half of it if just filled with complex circuitry. we only need about 1-2 dozen pages of it with the diagrams and such. -
Yea! exactly!
Most of it is filled with pics of mobo circuits nd stuff!!
As u said its the owner who has to decide whether or not to open it!!
I dunno whats the big deal! :S We're definitely not asking for the blueprints!! lol!
Agn! as u rightly said, we only need a few dozen pages with pics + instructions on how to open it and remove the core components like mobo!
I sure hope this guy happily hands it over to u!!It would really be helpful for all of us!
-
I'd love the manual myself, but since I only do fan cleanup,I don't really ned it. Nor will I ever change parts in it just because a manual instructs me on it...I'm not a modder
-
oh really? you could get the battery in place of the disc drive if you were a modder and understood the electronic equations in the manual a bit. then we would have an M15860tuX
-
No,you'd have the Eleron911 SkyRocketShip.
There's a reason why God did not want me modding laptops -
good thing god cant read.
-
I love modding stuff. I'm not really into cosmetic mods (as I'm just not artistically inclined, unfortunately) but interesting, functional mods? Hell ya. I'll be doing it either way - I'm just like that. I don't need help disassembling the little bugger, but I'd *really* like circuit diagrams, and detailed component specs, etc. Well, to be honest, it's more a point now that it exists and there are people denying me access to it that's really making me squirrelly. Rampant curiousity is a serious character flaw of mine
-
With good determination, I`m sure you can find the manual and share with the rest of us
Now you got me curious... -
deleted.......

In my experience, I've handled and, if needed, dissassembled a few Clevos. Namely M375, M400A, M545, M560A, M570A and an older M570RU.
The dissectees were M400A and M545 and all I can say, at first glance, they were a serious pain to dissassemble without a SM. Otherwise, if you are careful, you'll manage if the principal Clevo internal design is still there. -
maybe this is stupid to ask, but did you ever try and contact clevo or sager directly and ask for the manual?
-
They won't give it to you. I remeber somebody already trying that.
-
I e-mailed Sager like 20 times asking about the SM and also mentioning that i know warranty will be void nd stuff + fully justifying that i should have it!!
But they didn't reply even once!!! -
Gophn, whare are you????!?!??
-
He's not going to give it to you...He already said it.
-
Gophn has the M570RU SM????
-
And a number of other SMs for that matter
Easiest way to know how to answer to problems -
Maybe i can make a thread on "how to access the mobo"! nd he may reply with some info frm the SM!!
btw ne idea how he got all those " TOP SECRET" manuals?? -
tell sager that if you dont get it, your just going to take a wack at it and see how it goes.
After you are done, you are going to publish your own guide to dissasembly.
this will anger them, as its a third party in depth guide to their product. they may even threaten to sue you, but all you have to do to keep out of the red is call the guide "A service manual to the M570RU"
why exactly will gophe not give you it? and where was he so lucky to get one? -
There are web sites that sell service manuals for a variety of laptops. I've been looking for a while now, though, and I can't find one for the M570RU. I wouldn't be suprised if there were a site selling them, though - I just haven't found it yet.
Failing that, either working with/for a reseller/service center would get you access to them as well. Or knowing someone who does -
Chapter 1: Opening the laptop's case
Step 1: Obtain large red brick. The colour is important, as grey bricks can damage sensitive internal components.
Step 2: Smash the back part of the lower panel with brick until it falls off.
Reassembly Tools Required: Duct tape.
Note: Disassembling your laptop may void your warranty.
Would Love "Service Manual" for m570ru
