I was ready to order about 2 months ago but all the negative talk about the 7970M scared me off. Now that the 680M is out and no complaints that I see, so I'm ready to pull the trigger especially with the back to school specials :D

Before placing an order I would like to resolve some question I have.

    1) Is there a difference between the quality of the matte screens in the 9170 and 9150?

    2) What is the gamut percentage of the stock matte screens in the 9170 and 9150?

    3) Is there a big difference between the 9170 matte 72% and 9150 matte 95% upgraded screens?

4)When the 3D screen becomes available will my laptop support it? (I will have the 680M)

This is the full configuration I'm looking at:
    - NP9170
    - 72% gamut matte screen
    - i7-3720QM
    - GTX 680M
    - 16GB 1600MHz
    - 750GB 7200rpm
    - Intel Advanced-N 6235
    - Windows 7 Professional

Stock screen is about 60%, which is about 20% less than standard on a desktop LCD, so not awesome.

There is a big difference between the 72% and 95%, but only if you are really particular about having color accuracy, do photoedting etc. I think for gaming, both should be fine. But I really do enjoy using the 95% and from the reviews of people who know more about LCDs than I, the only true upgrade over the 95% is a HP DreamColor 1 billion color... So yeah, it's that awesome.
    - The stats on a LCD site for the v4 AOU 95% is off, it's wrong. It has over a million colors and nearly 700:1 contrast and excellent color accuracy. It's far better than what is posted on some sites.
