    Hi guys!

After an horrible experience with Dell, i finally got a refund for the defective M14x they sent me. I am now ready to buy another laptop and I was considering the p151hm1. I need a computer that will allow me to run word of warcraft and starcraft 2 smoothly and that wont be super heavy to carry around.

Do you think the base configuration of the p151hm1 would satisfy my needs?

    Thanks for your advices!! :)

Looks like the 560m in the base model should play Starcraft II at even Ultra settings:

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M - Notebookcheck.net Tech

If the other benchmarks look good, then yeah, you should be happy with it for the games you mentioned :)

Weight wise, the P151HM1 is just a touch over 6lbs, plus the power brick. It's a pretty standard size chassis as far as 15.6" laptops go.

thanks for the quick answer! This laptop definitely seems to be exactly what I need but I know nothing about this company. How is the customer service? I was completely traumatized by Dell terrible service.

And would it be easy to order from Canada?

    thanks again !

Well, I can tell you that their customer service is pretty fast. PMs on here are answered within 20 minutes during regular work hours, and emails are answered within 30 minutes at any time.

I made a couple changes to my order, and they obliged, which I don't think would go over very well if I tried that with Dell. :p

If you are ordering from Canada and want Canadian-based warranty, it's a bit extra (P150HM: $79.00 for 1 year), but if you have any issues, the repair facility is in Canada, and shipping is free both ways. Malibal uses UPS, so the standard shipping method (the 7 day one) will charge you a brokerage fee ($75.00 USD if I am not mistaken) on top of the shipping rate. If you go with the UPS Expedited (2 day) or Next-Day option, then there is no brokerage fee. Malibal has a shipping special for NBR members, so give Malibal a PM on these forums asking about NBR discounts.

Yep, I ordered from Malibal, but there are other resellers that frequent NBR. I know the Sager resellers are participating in a Labour Day (yes, with a "u" in labour :D) $100 discount on laptops over $1,500 before tax, shipping, brokerage. You may also want to look into Canadian resellers, there are two that post on NBR: FortNax Notebooks and Reflex Notebook (by AET Solutions Inc.). FortNax is based in Calgary, and Reflex is based in Saint-Laurent. If I recall correctly, FortNax and Reflex receive their notebooks from the US. FortNax and Reflex both have the option to use USPS instead of UPS, which means you can go with the 1-2 week standard USPS rate and not pay brokerage fees (a minor $5.00 prep fee according to NovaH in his posts below. Hopefully they chime in to confirm/deny my claims. :)

The 560m is a great GPU and will be more than enough to play WOW and SC2. You won't be disappointed with the notebook, they're built with great quality in mind.

    Oops.. missed this completely :)

    We offer USPS and UPS.

USPS costs a bit less but you will have to pay the taxes a second time and a small entry prep fee of 5.00$. We will reimburse the taxes after you send us a copy of the reciept.

We charge 49.00$ for UPS ground and it includes everything. You will have nothing more to pay when the laptop arrives. Just sign for it and enjoy.

Are those shipping rates new? I didn't think the $75 brokerage was included in the UPS price.

thanks guys , you are all very helpful!

I have a question regarding the thermal compound. Would the Stock OEM Thermal Compound be good enough for me or should I go with IC Diamond 7 Thermal Compound?

And concerning the wireless card, would Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card be ok?

    thanks again :)

IC Diamond will give you temps around 5-6C lower than stock. If you plan to overclock, or work in high ambient temps it may be worth it for you. You can also apply it yourself later if you're comfortable opening up the laptop and adding your own.

For wireless, the stock card is capable of 150Mbps. If you don't have a router that can do 300 or 450Mbps, you probably wouldn't see a huge improvement bumping up to the 6230 or 6300. However, you will see more stable wireless signal at the same ranges than you would with the stock (they have more antennas, which improves reception). If you have a 300Mbps router or faster, you would actually see an improvement with the upgraded options :)

Personally if you are comfortable opening up the laptop I would get the stock paste and do the IC diamond yourself (as you can get a nice tube of it for 10 bucks or less Like here) Save yourself some money and have some left over!

If you're not planning on a GPU upgrade, it's already more powerful than most of the laptop out there. That's not to say that its GPU can't be upgraded, people has already done it safely, I think there's a thread somewhere...

    ^ this

I've never heard of Sager and Clevo until a few months before, and they really should get the name out more. These are fantastic computers and blow anything from major retailers out of the water with their price/performance ratio.
