I'm not sure it has been done yet. And im not sure it should be here or in the owners lounge. But here it is.

Post opinions regarding what is best and what dou you guys use to lugg around the x7200.

I was thinking, since i plan to order from mysn.de the targus XL backpack. But im afraid, since the x7200 is not youre average 17 incher...

Wouldn't it be a good idea to actually BUY the X7200 first before going around looking for backpacks? As I understand it lots of retailers give a standard carrying case as part of the package which should serve as a decent stopgap until a decent backpack for which you know for sure the dimensions will fit can be found.

^^ Second that. Also, the standard carrying bag will give you some ideas of weight distribution, quality, etc. You can then hunt for the perfect bag less blindly ;)

    Now we're talking !

This seems like a good case for the x7200. None of those soft material thingy backpacks.

Does the x7200 fit inside it ? Is this made for the x7200 ?
IS this water proof ? ! This must be the ultimate x7200 caryying solution.
Is it custom made for the x7200 or what ?

Or maybe the inside pattern where the laptop "plugs in", it's shape can be custom made to perfect fit the x7200 !?

Just dont tell me it costs 1000 dollars ! :)

It may not be exciting looking, but at work, as seen in the video last week we use the Targus XL. It costs $69.95 at Fry's.

Wholey moley, the Pelican case alone weighs 10 lbs. Add in the x7200, power supply, mouse, etc, you are looking at nearly 30 lbs. Who needs a gym when you have this bad boy to lug around. I love pelican cases but the x7200 really needs a case with wheels if you plan to travel alot.

Personally, I would rather go with the 1560 Pelican case. It is a bit cheaper, bigger and has an extendable handle and wheels. Downside is double the weight, but it rolls!

    hi guys.

Bytales, if you ordered your laptop form mysn, the xmg u700 (x7200) you wont get any sort of packing items with it. It comes in a wooden carton, without any type of carrying instrument with it.

At least thats how mine came, 2 weeks ago.

That's because Pelican is in a totally different category of carrier. It's designed for structural rigidity (i.e. travel), not carrying comfort or convenience.

Incidentally, once you reach a backpack that can contain a desktop replacement (not many), you're better off limiting your load to the laptop and essentials. Anything additional, books, etc. will net a pack reminiscent of a camping pack real quick. Unless you've got a back to rival a beast of burden, I'd think twice about the need for a whole lot of additional extra storage.

When fully loaded, my Targus can reach nearly 50lbs! Not something you're likely to want to carry around for too long. It's tantamount to putting your products in a pillow case. Not at all a pack balanced/designed for comfort.

    hi Bytales

fear not, I waited for a little over a month. Not because of delivery, but because they had to bundle the pieces together, and in the meantime reported me, that they had some major price cut on the cards, and then I made another configuration, better one.

But all in all, after it was shipped, I received it in 4 days. Send an email and ask them..the customer support I had was top notch, extremely helpful and kind.

    regards
