Looks tasty, not quite as expensive as I was expecting either.
Going to be a very nice machine when it comes out no doubt, providing it has no issues
Similar weight to the larger X8100, but thats perhaps down to the cooling, and tbh the smaller same res screen does have attraction in terms of DPI -
file not found.linky not worky

Heh. Base option a little over $3,000 (no hdd or CPU).
Max options tops out at $13,765. -
Core i7 930 + GTX 480M SLI + 640GB HDD + 6GB RAM = 4204 USD
Core i7 930 + HD 5870 CF + 640GB HDD + 6GB RAM = 3695USD
You can add next 1000USD for Core i7 X980 6-core beast.
Very interesting is ability to bear four 12.5mm HDDs (4x 1TB)
You can spend 10 days at Hawaii with girlfriend or get this one!
The cheapest you will be able to get this monster together will be about 3000USD for CF and 3500USD for SLI I guess. -

I was meaning something more like what AndrewKW mentioned:
Core i7 930 + GTX 480M SLI + 640GB HDD + 6GB RAM = 4204 USD
Core i7 930 + HD 5870 CF + 640GB HDD + 6GB RAM = 3695USD
Convert that to UK prices, and thats actually cheaper than a Dell M17x MLK, and more potent.
When I said not as bad as I was expecting, I was looking at a more modest setup, and comparing to UK prices -
Eurocom's pricing is above average. US retailers will probably offer the same config for 500-1000$ less. Just be a little more patient. I also don't think that Eurocom will have the systems in stock before the rest, so there's no point in preordering now.
-
Do the new D900F is out! There are others stores who are also giving the pricing.

meaning there is no differences internal hardware wise ... besides the GTX480M card ...
??? -
Hmm, they list the single GTX 480M as just +$255 over the Mob. 5870.
That seems too cheap, but I hope it's accurate. -
-
I just tried that and still get the file not found. I'll check again tomorrow if I get the chance.
-
-
Or £182 extra but on Kobalts site, that GPU is + £353 in their Comanche config and their default GPU is the GTX 285M which is already more expensive than the 5870. -
any idea how much longer 900F will stay on the market? the fact they refreshed it, must mean somewhere between the lines, they want to keep it out for a while longer?
-
£350-400 on top of the 285 depending on the chassis
I would be surprised to get a 7200 in the uk with a mid range cpu for less then £3200
stupid money even for me -
For reference I configured equally D900F(single 480M) and X7200(dual 480M), the rest is stock + Wifi 6300+ i7-960.
Eurocom:
D900F - ~3600$
X7200 ~4700$
Same config for D900F offered by other retailers:
Sager ~3144$
XoticPC ~3000$
Bottom line:
Estimated price for X7200 (2x480M + i7-960) is going to be around 4k, which is not too bad if you ask me... -
-
Yep, +USB 3.0, newer chassis and possibly better cooling.
Still, I'm not rushing to grab one yet and hopefully, my 8740w will be more than enough till Sandy Bridge. Will see. -
I wouldn't take Eurocom's pricing seriously. Just wait until Sager resellers start offering preorders.
-
Nobody's taking them seriously, but you don't need to know much in order to guess the price
-
Damn this thing is quite expensive but not as much as i expected, been thinking about getting another workstation though. 990 for 2 gig fermi cards is what i expected.
-
Yes, it's cheaper than expected, IMO mainly because the initial prediction was from the price increase of adding 480M on D900F, but the price increase probably included any modifications to the D900F to support 480M as well as the bigger power brick.
-
I dislike huge power bricks lol, well i have to see how the reviews go of these things, i hope it sells more easier than before. The design of the D900F is why its so hard to sell by its own sometimes. This one will be different i am interested to see about the 120HZ screen compared to Dream Color 2!
-
-
But honestly, screen quality is overrated for game playing purpose, colour accuracy is really only important in photo editing etc. The fact that most game media is probably developed on TN panels makes having IPS panels to play it kind of pointless.

All I know is if I'm going to buy another Clevo lunchbox, I hope they can do RGB LED. I would settle for WLED if I had to of course, but it's going to suck to have to go without it now after experiencing what a beautiful screen I currently have. Hopefully the dual 480M's can help make it easier to forget. I hope we get some more accurate benchmarks from these cards sometime soon. I'm getting anxious to see what they can really do.
EDIT: Anyone have any idea when Powernotebooks or Xotic is going to have their x7200 pricing up? -
-
I nearly pooped myself after configuring one.
But I still desperately want one but I'm not going to be a early adopter, will wait for reviews to see how well it handles temps and if the Nvidia cards are really worth it.
One thing that worries me is micro stutters which would be a shame on such a powerful machine.
I would hate to blow over $3500 without having some performance info to go on. -
Well, but it will be the only notebook we know currently that will handle 3Dvision gaming decently.
-
This brings tears to my eyes...so beautiful

WoW look at the price. My brother bought an alienware 3 years ago with dual SSD. Total price was $8800 USD. That was expensive but this.... woah.

I know mandrake what market are they trying to get too? Hardcore graphic designers? lol offering sli Quadro 3800M! Well crylo i do want to try out a desktop processor machine, probably won't be a difference much anyway. Whats up with the m17x and the 5870's? Problems? I am trying to get me a R2 replacement someway or another. Been having mad audio stuttering. I love dells warranty.

What's the performance difference between a desktop core i7 and laptop core i7? Any good benchmark site?
-
Only really noticable if you do work that's heavily processor dependent. I do a lot of 3D rendering on mine, and the perceived difference between a desktop processor versus its mobile equivalent is huge. One of my colleagues has a Dell Precision with a i7 720QM in it, and doing the same work on that one gets frustratingly slow once you are used to better. On the other hand; with most games it's hardly noticable at all.
-
3D rendering depends more on the CPU and not the GPU? Maybe your 280M is better than his Quadro in his precision?

That's what so appealing about this machine, it gives you the ultimate power for games with SLI or CF, and at the same time it is a high end workstation with the latest in CPU power in only a 11.6lb. package! I'll take it!!

-
Good point, hehe.
Just a single (fully spec'ed) X7200, Eurocom, and I'll help you to recover from the mess you're in right now,
you've got my word, JohnPM if interested...
X7200 Pre-sale price is here!
