Ok, so the ordered 2 TB Western Digital My Passport Studio ( Western Digital My Passport Studio Review (2TB) | StorageReview.com - Storage Reviews) just came in today.

Inside there is a WD20NPVT 2,5" 2TB drive, the only 2 TB drive in 2,5" format at the time of the writing of this post. Thats 02.08.2012.

The only catch is that this is a 15mm drive.
We have the 7mm thin SSDs
The 9,5m thick standard laptop drive
The 12,5 mm thicker laptop drive. In this format we had the first TB laptop drive.
And theres the 15mm drive. Not supposed to be used in a laptop.

But guess what. Together with a 9mm drive, it fits in the drive caddy of the x7200.

The 2 TB drive on bottom, Samsung 470 series 128gb SSD on top, A LOT of push, and i mean a lot, and together with a bit of bending from the caddy ears that fit the screws, i just managed to hit the hole to push in the screws.

Because a lot of pushing was done, the back cover fit just about PERFECT, no spare mm left.

To tell the truth, there is enough room inside that area to fit a 15mm drive and a 9mm drive with a modified hdd caddy. Modified, meaning proper holes for the screws, in exactly the right position.

Using the standard caddy, it fits with a lot of push. What im trying to say, if one were to design a caddy for a 15mm hdd and 9mm drive, it would be perfectly possible.

Here is a screenshot> For now.
Note the seagate drive is a 3,5" drive connected via a USB rack.

Now i have a free spot under the battery, and there goes another TB hdd.

    So there you have it:

3TB storage, a SSD and an optical drive inside the x7200 chassis.
All thats left now is to order the other TB hdd, and maybe, just maybe i have luck with 680m SLI.
