I was looking forward to a X7200 socket2011 replacement for Xmas and now I see there is cpu comments of March 2012 only.
How would this affect the X7200 socket2011 laptop replacement launch ?

The X7200's successor (P270WM) will use Socket LGA2011. The article you're quoting is referencing vanilla Ivy Bridge, which does not affect the P270WM. That means that vanilla Ivy Bridge is unsupported in the P270WM, much like vanilla Sandy Bridge (LGA1155).

What does affect the P270WM is Sandy Bridge -E and Ivy Bridge -E. The -E designation stands for "Enthusiast" or "Extreme" (take your pick which one you may be). These CPUs are LGA2011 and not LGA1155 like their weaker, non-Extreme counterparts.

So your plans of procuring a P270WM in December should remain unhindered. Enjoy! Also would like lots of pics and a good review.
