Has any one tried putting the 120hz screen from the P170HM in the X7200 and got it working? I desperately want 3d for my next laptop, but feel it's only worth it with a dual gpu setup due to the fps hit when playing 3d games.

Maybe someone knows if Clevo will start offering it as an option with their new line coming out the beginning of the year?

The current 120hz screen that comes on the P170HM has a 50 pin connector. The x7200 models as well as most other current laptops have a 40 pin connector so these 120hz screens would not work as it is.
In the future more models should have this new screen technology. No ETA's at the moment though....

IMO, this is a huge letdown for the x7200 - this system is begging for 3d out of the box - most of the consumers of this particular laptop probably aren't as worried about expense. Should have been an option.

I think they are gonna do it on the Clevo P270WM. Its kind of disappointing.

Agree 100% I travel enough that I'm replacing my desktop and as such i'm willing to pay whatever is necessary to get as close to my desktop performance as possible. And if it was available, it would include 3D.

My issue now is deciding whether to bite the bullet and get the X7200 or wait a few months with my fingers crossed that the future model has a 3D option.

^ X7200 will be replaced by the P270WM next year, I dont think its worth it to invest a large sum on a desktop replacement when its almost EOL.
