    X8100 Rumors of EOL

    Ok I keep reading that the Clevo x8100 is being phased out? Anyone know the truth is this laptop EOL? Cause I had planned on order one today. And the last clevo I owned went EOL 4 months after I purchased it and it was a RMA nightmare. I need to figure something out soon I need to get something ordered by the end of the year. I wanna be able to write this off my taxes this year

    I'll be surprised if it gets an upgrade to the GTX 400M or Mobility 6800.

    I'd go with the X7200, once the 460M SLI or 470M SLI become available.

    As an aside, is Killer|Notebooks still in business?

    No it is not...X8100 Rumors of EOL. In fact it is being updated at Clevo for the first part of November shipping... :)

    It's currently not, but if you want a longer lifetime then get x7200.

    Ah thanks for the feedback .... As for Mark @ K/N, he is out of business. But I still own 2 laptop I purchased from him still running pretty strong just time to upgrade.

    Babyhemi any ideas about the upgrades should I wait to order ones?

    X7200 Scares me desktop chips in a laptop = bad. I had 2 different D900 clevo's both had massive heat problems due to desktop chip in a laptop. Both were RMA nightmares. Plus I don't like nividia's I had a Clevo 570ru with a 8800 in it I had to replace 5 times. And dont even get my started about the 7950GTXs I had in my D900.

    I hate buying a new laptop .... This is harder then when I went got my new camaro.

    The Clevo x8100's or Sager NP8120's to be shipped in November will have the very latest components and the updated video bios for the Ati cards. There will be no shipments until November is the latest I have heard.

    I'll have to get with you when the updated system comes out. I attempted to get answers about the laptop friday and monday from xoticpc but they once again never answered any my emails. I even posted on their forums about the EOL being phased out rumor and I got nada. I guess some people are either too busy or dont need business.
