Running the WPrime stability test, hot how does the X9000 @ 3.2 Ghz normally get in a M570RU-U? I've seen 85+ in one core.
Notebook is using auto fan mode on a Zalman NC 2000 on max blast - not that this cooler hits the CPU fan very well... CPU Voltages are stock.
Thanks for any info!
-
thats pretty hot.
You should check to see if the CPU heatsink is secured... if it is, then you might have to undervolt the CPU and/or bring down the clock. -
85 is not a dangerous temp for this processor (they are rated up to 105).
Mine gets up to that sort of temperature when under heavy load and I've had no problems with it -
I appreciate the info! I guess I just forget however powerful this thing is.
Also, just wondering, have you ever tried Orthos at 3.2?
After a few minutes, it throws an error for me - seems like stock voltage isn't enough. -
Orthos has a problem running with the x9000 overclocked, I only got it to work at stock clocks, but the cpu never had any problems. I think your temps are fine for running stability tests, but it shouldn't go over 62c while gaming.

Thanks bwhxeon - that's good to know.
-
the temp rating for the CPUs are the threshold temps... so you want to keep it below that as much as possible.
under 80 or 70C is fine. -
In my old laptop (Gateway P-6831FX) this CPU was max 65C after whole day of WoW and max 72C after whole day of Crysis
(OCd to 3.0Ghz)
I did not use laptop cooler, Undervolt or something like this, all I did was just to put a book under the laptop
p.s.: Is your CPU retail or Engineering Sample? (Some ES CPUs may have problem with Thermal Controll) -
I agree, 85+ is too high. My T9300 running at close to 3GHz has not reached the 50c mark, and that's playing Crysis all high for a few hours. -
I appreciate all the replies.
Running at 2.8Ghz and now undervolted by .100, it now maxes out on Orthos at 67C. Must have been 83+ before!
I'd undervolt even more but Orthos will give me an error.
Anyway, the weird thing is my 1st core never ever goes about 54C. It's mostly stuck at 48, even back when the other would be 80+
Is its temp sensor messed up or something? This is viewed via HWMonitor.
Also, in RMclock IDA and DFFS are always grayed out. What does that mean and how does that affect things?
Thank you, -
Hi,
Im also running an X9000 ES on my notebook but its a Lenovo T61P.
Im also curious about the IDA and DFFS being greyed out in RightMark.
Thug21, is your X9000 an ES or production?
Please, can anyone with a retail X9000 (non ES) confirm their IDA and DFFS status? I really need this info....
Thanks in advance.

My Temps
Standard voltage - 84c after 15mins of Orthos
1.1375v - 80c after 15mins of Orthos -
I have pin modded the core voltage to 1.4375V and OC 3.6GHz, but temps are too high, full load > 94°C.....
Just tried pin mod to 1.1375V @ 2.8GHz, max temp 54°C.
0.3V~800MHz..... -
You`re telling me that your idle frequency is 800 Mhz at 0.3V ?
WHAT? -
please please please tell me how do you make it idle at 800mhz? my t8300 idle at 1.2ghz
