Hello,
I realize that its best to post instead of replying on the original post since its a common issue and easier to find.
It's been over a year since the P650rs-g was released, so I hope I'm not rushing for updates, don't take it as if I am.
I have a question for @XMG team, thanks to them they're the only one making clevo laptops with erratic fan tables useful: Is it possible to flash the TR version of the P507 EC on a P507-2017 for hopefully fixing the same issue @saturnotaku described? (one of the fans run at high speed out of all the sudden, automatic is too high on idle, second fan is always on)
I claim full responsibility for any damage for having an answer.
One way I found as a workaround is set to custom a̶n̶d̶ ̶r̶e̶n̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶X̶t̶u̶S̶e̶r̶v̶i̶c̶e̶.̶e̶x̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶e̶l̶s̶e̶,̶ ̶f̶o̶l̶l̶o̶w̶e̶d̶ ̶b̶y̶ ̶n̶v̶r̶a̶m̶ ̶r̶e̶s̶e̶t̶ ̶(̶f̶n̶+̶d̶)̶,̶ custom now works, but the surface temperatures are hot due to the fan idling at 0 rpm :/ which is expected but not comfortable.
I know the forum is now plagued with these questions, I just hope I'm able to flash the proper EC on this new model that doesn't seem to be discussed around.
Sorry for my bad english
Any help is deeply appreciated![]()
Thank you,
My regards.

I don't know if your notebook is anything like mine, but I assume it is.
For some reason the custom fan profiles are in reverse. Try open the custom fan profile and then set it to the highest values, you'll realize the fan profile are now extremely agressive. At least that was the case for my P375SM-ATmash likes this. -
Unfortunately it isn't, I did have my hands on P150SM-A and P370SM-A, didn't realize Control center support old models, thanks for helping out.

For the TR version EC (TR denotes that it is our modified version, which may or may not include modified fan tables), I can't really say if it's safe to install on a Kaby Lake chassis or not, but I would suggest it's not the best idea. I also doubt if our R&D tested it, but I would need to dig deeper to find out why we don't have a TR EC version for the Kaby Lake - it could actually be because Clevo integrated our Skylake EC fan tables into the stock Kaby Lake EC version. Can't say for sure though and from what you said in the OP that sounds unlikely.
There's two different points here - when we modify the fan table it's for the default profile, this is different to the custom fan modes in the CCC - we don't have control over this so any fan modifications are only at the default setting. The P65* and P375 are also a couple of years apart - so the CCC for the P375 would behave differently to the P65* fan settings in CCC. Finally, you have the possibility of SLI or Crossfire in the P375 so there's potentially a second GPU to take into account with regards to fan control and temperatures.
But there are custom TR version ECs for the XMG P722, P723 and P724 available on our driver page - relating to the different P37* chassis.Tmash likes this. -
Thanks alot for responding!Last edited by a moderator: Mar 12, 2018 -
Updating to bios 1.05.11 from palkeo clevo mirror fixed custom fan issue, the new bios seems to update ME and speedshift changes according to changelog. The defaults for the bios are also different like SGX (is now enabled).
Seems the bios/ME from 1.05.5 was interfering with EC? no idea whats going on.
The second gpu fan is no longer broken (stuck at high speed) and I can't replicate it, but ofc the default fan profile (auto) is still aggressive. I'm very happy with custom as the fans are no longer 0 rpm, what auto should be, b̶e̶f̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶s̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶k̶i̶c̶k̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶m̶ ̶0̶ ̶r̶p̶m̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶3̶0̶0̶0̶i̶s̶h̶ ̶o̶n̶c̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶e̶m̶p̶e̶r̶a̶t̶u̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶o̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶e̶s̶e̶t̶,̶ ̶n̶o̶w̶ ̶i̶t̶s̶ ̶<̶1̶0̶0̶0̶r̶p̶m̶ ̶r̶e̶g̶a̶r̶d̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ EDIT: nvm, theyre back at 0 now, the EC must be horribly programmed, not sure thats what fan stop anyways
My recipe for new buyers of P650HS-G:
-Flash the latest bios from palkeo and latest EC (1.5.12 & 1.5.5 respectively)
-Install CCC 5.1.1.74 after modifying oem file (set XtuSupportFan to no)
-Set Fan mode to overclock
-Done, idling will sound like a 7200rpm 3.5inch hdd, I love the fact that this laptop does not have fans that whine, its almost like silent rain fall sound. (woosh at ~8khz, you can try to simulate using mynoise.net white noise page)Last edited by a moderator: Mar 12, 2018 -
Edit: Enabling msyhybrid fixes the automatic fan profile issue, lost gsync but I need the battery life anyways, its around 5-6 hours which impressed me vs 3 hours on discrete. (10w idle vs 25w idle)
