As requested by some users, here are the photos of the XMG P501 PRO ROCCAT Extreme Black Edition i just received ;).
The photos were made with my I9100, but they are of pretty good quality for a phone. I might do some with a professional camera later if i have the time (and my GF lends it to me :p).

As you can tell its just a sticker, not a printed-on graphic. It was also put on a bit hastily, some parts of the sticker were over the edge of the notebook and i had to cut them off myself. As its a kind of thicker metal sticker that is not pleasant to touch, it collects dirt at its edges and the glue isnt really strong eiter so it easily peels off. So imo its overpriced and not worth it (unless you really like it that much that youre willing to overlook all this or want the Roccat mouse+SOTA with the laptop).
I think i will just remove it all (including the XMG sticker under the screen and the HDMI and THX sticker on the palmrest) and have a classy notebook with no branding (well the XMG logo shows at boot but thats about it, i might also flash Sagers Bios to get rid of that as the XMG logo just looks ugly to me).

Aw man I thought it was a printed-on graphic, god damn it.
These news are extremely sad for me, the look of the laptop, thanks to the roccat input, raised the bar for me, I've always been a roccat fanboy!

Dear god why? cant wait until you link more pictures thought :D

I thought it was really cool... then you said it was a sticker. Well, that's really to bad, they could have painted or laser etched that and it would have been awesome.

Anyways, have fun with your new computer!

I also didnt expect it to be a sticker tbh... But the main reason for ordering was to get the Roccat mouse and SOTA cheaper.

I just checked the Bios again and found out they gave me a 580m. I ordered a discounted 485m (for the price of the base 560m) and got a 580m. I dont know if its a mistake or they ran out of 485m stock and just decided to compensate this way but im not complaining here :D.

Try ordering one while theyre still offering the 485m as an option you might also get a 580m :p.
I removed all the stickers (roccat, xmg and the palmrest stuff) and i have to say the laptop looks real classy now, i really like it.

yeah, mySN schenker is probably the most consumer friendly clevo-reseller out there, I ordered my P150HM with the Radeon 6690M, but they upgraded to GTX 580M for free, because they had no ATI cards in stock at that time

and there a lot of similar stories out there, I removed the XMG sticker btw, looks way to nerdy lol

They really go the extra mile for the customer. They also examined the screen for any pixel defects for free per my request (its even stated on the invoice as an upgrade) :).

Just a question, why do they have P501 just with glare display on mySN.de if I heard about matte display on this machine many times? Is it just a mistake, or which panel do you have on that Roccat series?

Thank you mySN, can I get any direct contact? I am thinking about P501 or P511 and since I am not very familiar with hi-tech notebook, I'd appreciate some help. [email protected]

    Thank you

Haha, that's too much... I don't feel that important to open a new topic! Just can't decide between P501 and P511 with pretty same configuration. I just wanted to ask about barebones. I want that machine to stay with me for more than two years, longer is better for me! Now please don't tell it won't, that it will break just after end of warranty...

It depends on who you bought it from and how they applied their decal. Some are just stickers and can be peeled off. Others (like ours) are electroform and will require a lot more work.

CommanderDef it really depends on what you need/want. Id go for the P501 even if you take it as a slightly lesser config as its built to handle better components and offers more upgrade options in the future (also looks better imo).

Johnnyman27 i could just peel off the sticker on mine with minimal force. It was a thicker metalic kind so it all went off in one piece. However if yours isnt a sticker take care not to damage the rubber coating underneath.

I dont think johnny bought his from mySN. It sounds like he's talking about removing the Sager logo off the lid.

johnnymanSince it appears there are several ways resellers can get the logo on the lid, a pic would probably help us to help you determine how/if the logo can be removed.

Looks like the kind of metallic sticker the Roccat Edition had. Try heating it up a bit with a hairdryer and prying it off carefully with your fingernails. If its just a regular sticker it should go off pretty easily after the glue is slightly heated. Id try it out first on the bezel where theres no rubber coating underneath to damage.

Then it probably isnt just a regular sticker... Rather strange as it looks like one and not printed on/etched or anything. Youre better off leaving it as it is then as especially the rubber finish on the lid can easily be damaged.
