XMG P506 (Clevo P651 RP6-G) : headphones jack crashing when plugging a mic

Hello everyone.
I am currently facing a very weird problem: my headphones jack works normally, but as soon as I plug my microphone, it completely crashes, and I am forced to either restart the laptop to make it work again, or use the Line-out port (which means no amp, and my headphones need the extra power, I'm already having a hard time with the lack of bass). Of course I would like to be able to use my mic while playing, without having to sacrifice on the sound experience.

This problem has existed since I got the laptop (in September 2017), but I never really took the time to pay attention to it and just used the Line-out until now. But I am really starting to have enough of the very low and bass-less sounds.

I am using Beyerdynamic Custom Studio headphones with the Beyerdynamic Custom Headset Gear cable that adds a microphone to the cable and ends in two separate jacks (headphones / microphone). I don't have any other device to test ; but since the mic works fine and the audio works with the Line-out, I just can't understand where the problem comes from. It does sound like a short-circuit. Whenever I plug my headphones back into the headphones jack after it crashed (regardless of if the mic is still plugged or not), I just hear a very loud sound (that you usualy hear when plugging headphones into high-powered jacks) then nothing at all, and Windows doesnt even detects it anymore.

I'd really like to find a fix to this problem, otherwise my only other option would be to invest in either another less convenient microphone (USB this time), or an external soundcard (and I have little knowledge about these things. I am considering grabing the FiiO E10k if I end up going this way).

I hope someone has an idea of what is going on and how to fix it.

What drivers are you currently using?

Did you truy to install the latest version of drivers and the companion app?

 

Drivers are up to date yes, I'm not sure what the companion app is

 

I think he's referring to any SoundBlaster apps. It could also be a bad port.

 

I find port issues like this are more often than not hardware issues.

 

Where do you get your drivers from? Try uninstalling all audio (Realtek and SBX) drivers and Clevo Control Center and install new ones using Obsidian Tool with NBR license. Select P650RP6-G model.
