    Hi everyone

For the last couple of months the screen of my XMG U705 has begin doing weird stuff when opened in the 90 degree range or so, it started by just flickering a little, but it is going to worse and now in certain angles it just goes completely mad

So before doing anything I would like to ask if anyone has experience doing RMA with XMG and in that case how has it gone, how quick they are, etc..

Your best source of information of what their turnaround time is at this time would be to ask them directly. They should be able to give you a complete overview of the process, their average times and where they are at now, and what they think the problem is. These times can change week to week and what somebody else has seen may not be what their current turnaround is.

In your case that's probably a bad display cable and I'd recommend trying to reseat it if you feel comfortable doing so. If that doesn't fix anything you'll probably need to replace the cable entirely which they can most likely do or you can try to buy yourself online.

As Derek said it's 99% likely a bad screen cable which will need replacing, it's not something that's easy to do so we would need to have it back assuming it's still under warranty. If you contact our tech support team directly they will arrange the free return shipping and get the problem resolved for you - a repair like this should really be completed within a day but it's not always possible to start work the same day as the delivery depending on the workload of the RMA department on any given day.

Well, I will post how everything went as I just received my laptop back a few days ago

21 nov: Sent them a ticket as per my last post
23 nov: received response from them with rma number and instructions with no previous email or questions

Now because of work reasons I couldn´t send it back then as I had to flight so I decided to postpone it

5 dec: I decided to sent them another ticket with the same information as the first one but mentioning the RMA number that the gave me in the first one
6 dec: I received an email back from them with a new link to print my return label and was told to use the same RMA number
10 dec: I sent the laptop back to XMG
19 dec: I recieved an email confiming that they had received the laptop
21 dec: They sent me 2 emails, the first one to inform me that the laptop was being repaired, the second one to inform me that the repair was finished and was going to be shipped back to me
26 dec: As I hadn´t received any tracking number yet I sent them an email
27 dec: I receive the tracking number
28 dec: I receive my laptop

Now, when I recieved the laptop didn´t show any image at first so I pluged it to the TV, still no image, I read the repair report that came with the laptop and it said that apart from replacing the ldvs cable they also cleaned and repasted the laptop as well as update the Bios so I remove the battery and clear the CMOS, after that the laptop started working fine.

Note:as I didn´t have the original box I just sent it with tons of bubble wrap

Note 2: Thanks to the XMG representative for asking all my questions so quick
