Anyone have any idea how much of a percentage you'd get with one? I thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of it.Can't wait until I get an opportunity to put in my order for a NP8660

I think it's just free shipping. PM Justin and find out.
-
it's 50% off shipping, not free.

50% shipping discount expired

So, what is "...the current student discount..."?

Mine was 25 dollars off for student discount without cash discount. And paladin maybe you should pay me for giving you such a top secrete.
-
yeah.. I'm guessing it's $25, and since I paid with a bank draft, a 2% cash discount is also applied
-
Eurocom offered 5% off to me, but some options are pricey.

thats really strange. some time ago? I ordered mine July 22nd and got 50% off shipping.

I ordered Aug 6th and got $25 off. It was rather irritating.
-
if the discount didn't expire. Maybe it expired at the end of July.
-
I dunno, for a $2300 order, $25 off doesn't sound like much. Then again, I could just take the 3% off cash order and put the savings towards 1-2 day air freight shipping, right?
I still have to PM Justin for an official explanation. -
Justin offered me free shipping, once and I wasn't even a student. I think I caught him in a happy mood that day after I raved wildly about XoticPC on these forums. But aren't we all students of life from the school of hard knocks?
How 'bout free OS or free MS Office Student edition? -
When I ordered I was told the discount was based on your config
-
That's all students get
-
Remember that these resellers only make a small margin of profits based on what they sell so they cannot afford to give out to much discounts. On top of the low margins they make they really dont charge a premium either so ya you get my point,
-
I don't know. I still think they could probably do better than 50% off shipping.
That's what, $18 in most cases? -
Yeah their discount is pretty lame, especially if you buy one of their Asus notebooks that already offer free shipping. Then you don't get any discount regardless of your student status.
-
-
xoticpc or powernotebook...whoever can offer me a student discount whether it be free shipping or whatever i'll probably buy from you within the next week
-
Why not just send a email or pm the resellers instead of debating it on this thread
-
Personally, i gave my reseller a call. Don't be scared, the resellers won't bite (until they got your money
). Talking over the phone with a sales rep, is the best way to negotiate and get your point across. PM's and E-Mails are in no way as personal as a phone call.
Just my 2 cents. -
Xoticpc also has a live chat.
