I haven't bought/ordered anything yet, but Hutsady has been very helpful answering the questions I have had as well. Still looking into probably getting an NP8150.

I had spoken to Xotic when I was researching my purchase. Definitely not a bad reseller, but I would have appreciated email responses to be more prompt. But yes, definitely a worthy reseller to check out.

PS.: I finally went with LPC-Digital/babyhemi for my order.

Exactly! I even got replies from him at 2am EST over the weekend, which says a lot about his dedication to not only his business, but the customer as well. That was one of the deciding factors for me.

No biggie. I will definitely consider Xotic again the next time I'm looking for a laptop. That being said, Larry/LPC will surely get priority from me. :p

I'm on the verge of having dealings with a 3rd reseller right now, the 3 being XoticPC, LPC-Digital and LogicalBlueOne in Australia, and I must say all three have been superb to work with.

XoticPC was my NP8690 dealer that I had a minor mistake in sending more money in..they respectfully asked me that I sent too much, and asked what do I do with it. "Just upgrade the processor," I said, and it was done in a jiffy.

LPC-Digital, the NP8150 dealer before the Intel recalled their chipsets. It was all good dealings until I found out I had to leave for somewhere else, and could not receive the laptop in time for the delays. The refund process was quick, and babyhemi/Larry visited the bank a couple of times, waiting for bank details to be keyed in.

LogicalBlueOne is an Australian rebrander, but I guess the OP is from the USA, so I'll not go into details.

All of them were prompt in answering countless and tons of questions that can make a 5 year old kid grow old in an instant. Communication was well enough to be said, as most Sager/Clevo resellers/rebranders are very knowledgeable about their products and specifications, and seemed like I was talking to my neighbour, casual but cool.

XoticPc is definitely a great place, the people there seem to enjoy their job. I had a problem with my CPU and they helped me the same day, they contacted Sager and replied back to me. I regret not buying the laptop from them - bought it from RJtech to save some money, never again.

I originally ordered from Xotic, but when I decided to upgrade to the 8150 from the 8130 instead and cancel that order, I moved to Malibal. Xotic charges almost double for shipping on the same configuration plus about $30 more on the base cost. But in the end I may end up switching again if Malibal doesn't offer the 95% color gamut screen by the time orders start shipping...

you could take a look at mythlogic ;) they've got the 95% screens and much better configuration options for all your other parts.. they've worked with me a ton on price and configuration, and i found their responses to my emails to usually occur within the hour. those are the reasons i switched to them over xotic.

by no means do i have bad things to say about xotic though! you guys were very helpful, and i've watched your 2 part video of the 8150 like a dozen times lol

do the reps at xotic (or at the other resellers/builders) earn commission? just wondering cuz i know for xotic they have you put the name of the rep that has helped you in the order comments box..

I don't know about commission, but I think the reason might also have to do with consistency between the customer and the rep.

Be nice if they offered a no interest payment plan. At least BillmeLater. Not having a big disposable income I buy most of my expensive purchases this way and pay them off in time before interest hits.

I wanted to get a Sager/clevo. Instead I'm getting a M15X from Newegg, no interest 12 months. I have a nice payday coming up this summer. If the M15X doesn't make me happy I'll sell it and maybe I'll check out Xoticpc again.

Long story short, yes it could get better. Xoticpc and other Sager resellers need to offer finance payment options. If you know of one who does let me know. I still have time to cancel my Newegg order.

There is a financing option on our site. Also, Paypal now has a BillMeLater payment option - but I think it might only be for eBay purchases. You might want to look into that as well.

Your frustration is 100% legit and perfectly understandable, yet somehow I have the impression that Xotic themselves did not yet do anything to deserve the attitude. My own customer experience with this crew was very good, and that includes two support tickets I made - which were nothing serious - nevertheless addressed very promptly and straight to the point.

Don't you think it would feel better in the long run to give them a tech support ticket and a little time to answer it, than to doubt them in advance? :)

I hope your problem will be sorted out as soon as possible, best of luck.

How do you guys (XoticPC) deal with Canadian customers?
What extra charges do I have to pay and also if I need to return it because of some damage how does that work?

NO, NO, frustration although it is a 10 day old laptop but I know they do not build these they are just them middle man from what I understand. Also, I did contact them first before i posted all I am doing is giving a real example of their customer support. I will be posting as the process begins.

Ok, so here is my situation. I bought a new x7200 from Xotipc and after about 10 days or so it started to act funny I.E. when I would use internet explore which I had been using for several days now would freeze and then the screen would go black. After screen removed I received a little window pop up at the bottom right of the screen stating this "Display driver has stopped working and has recovered. Display Driver NVIDA Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version, 265.77 Stopped responding and successfully recovered".
So, I contacted Sager off of the Xotipc web site and called the 24/7 hr hot line and no answer left a message and no call back. I called again the next day and TY answered and ask me to send a screen shot of the message to him and a brief description of what was happing so I did. Ty then called me back roughly 4hr later saying it needs a new GPU. Due to me leaving for Afghanistan in 5 days this really sucks. So, he said to call Xotipc and see if they could have a different outcome instead of me shipping the laptop to Sager. I emailed Xotipc after hrs and I received a reply soon after maybe 1hr later maybe it was fast. They said the outcome will still be the same but you get what you get. I just want to make sure if Sager is shipping to Afghanistan that it is insured and I should not have to pay for the shipping twice and the insurance either. We will see tomorrow.

Hi dodgehemi0, I'm curious as to who the warranty is covered by? Is is Sager or XoticPC? I'm asking this because when I bought my laptop from XoticPC a few years ago I had a display problem after about 2 weeks of receiving it. I contacted Xotic and they said it was under Sager warranty and I'd have to contact them. Ultimately Sager sorted out the problem.

I'm not sure if things have changed now, i.e. does Xotic issue their own warranties on Sager machines? Or is it the same as before, that Xotic is only responsible for the Sager within the return period (not sure what that is in the states), and after that they are absolved of responsibility? Maybe someone from XoticPC can clarify their position on this?

i won't speak too much on xoticPC cuz i don't want to sound bias.

as far as hudstady goes, he gets an A+++ from me. he was totally patient and promp with all of my questions, and concerns, when i was making my first sager purchase (NP8850 in sig). he was probably the main reason why i went with xoticPC over the other resellers. i think it's a brilliant idea to have your staff actively connecting with their customers through simple public communication.

Customers are welcome to work with Sager direct or they can contact our Service Department and we can do all the leg work with Sager and get the RMA Set Up, Shipping Labels Created and send you a detailed email with everything we have set up for an RMA.

@dodgehemi0 No offense taken :) We are more then happy to help in anyway we can and want nothing less then for you to be completely satisfied with your new machine.

Well so far the RMA process with Xotipc is working in my favor I Will not have to pay for shipping either way to or from so that is nice since they will be shipping it to an APO it will be pretty high to ship. Xotipc is doing a great job. I asked about putting a better screen on the laptop and they said they would but then I would have to pay for shipping don't want to do that aw-well.

From what I understand is that SAGER does the Warrenty but XOTIPC is like a middle man making sure it all goes well before you get the product back and also sending the product to them. Is that right XOTIPC guys?
