With Vista upgrade, you have to upgrade fom XP, and its close to impossible to do a true clean install. I recommend a full version of Vista and not doing a upgrade, but a full clrean OSRI.

College and Uni more or less refer to the same thing, although technically speaking there are differences - in terms of "academic" licenses for MS products, "student" usually refers to someone in tertiary education, i.e., after high-school.

oh, shame i dont live in america or know anyone who would buy it for me and send it over with me paying them via paypal :( . Vista ultimate here is like £200+ in places that would cost like £75-£100 buying it from america

Question about Vista, the key we get with our laptops can we use that to activate on another laptop or pc if we returned our laptop because as i know when you return the laptop they dont give you a refund for activated Vista Products

Doubtful - an OEM version usually gets locked to the hardware it was originally installed on.

However if you activate by phone and tell the rep what happened, they will swap it across. I had this when I upgraded from a 5792 (7950GTX, x7800) to a 5793 (8800MGTX, x9000) with a whole new machine and they swapped the license no problems :)
