It's an expensive laptop under the hood. 10 dollars says this thing is going to be madly overpriced.

But hey, it's not my money being spent, =)

I remember 2 years ago Dell was giving out $750.00 off coupons & 30% off coupons, so that you can use it on any notebook. Now, I can not find any or heard of any similar coupon deals.

Well I don't think Dell does that anymore only thing I've seen is a maximum of 325 off Inspiron PCs.

Just remember the wonderful world of Dell tech support. If they made a movie about it they might call it around the world in 80 days :D

Pick whatever fits better your needs. If you really need the Beast then your should buy DELL, if you need something better in terms of performance probably the d900c is the one for you. Who knows.

    Trance
PS: Personaly I think the Alienwares looks awsome, too bad they are so weak and expensive for my needs :(

Wow, have you guys seen those benchmarks? In native resolution with Company of Heroes it couldn't even beat out a single 7900GTX. And in Prey at medium quality and XGA resolution it could barely come within 30% of the m9750. I fail to see how this deserves the Editor's Choice for gaming. Sure, it's processor is fast, but that matters very little in gaming. Methinks the editor's were a bit too entranced by the pretty lights.

Ok an in same benchmark test The Company of Heros scores 1024 by 768 it doubles the score of the 9750 so it must be twice as fast. ;) Plus what is the native resolution of the Tosibia.

Company of Heroes is an RTS, I already mentioned it would be excellent for those, especially at low settings. But seriously, who buys a full 1080p gaming laptop to play their games at 1024x768?

dont kno if this was already mentioned... but apparently 1730 has MXM-II... while D901C has MXM-IV.... or at least III, considering it has the 7950.

The 1730 cannot physically have just MXM-II, as even a single 8700M-GT will not fit into the MXM-II envelope. However, in reality, the 1730 almost certainly does not use MXM standards at all, so the point is moot.

All new XPS- and Inspiron- laptops come with a wireless sniffer.

This works even when the laptop is switched off. Pressing the button shows, if a detected network is in range.

    THAT IS SO KOOL

I love how the review states "there is nothing better than this, it is the kind of 3DMark06." Obviously, the reviewer doesn't get out much. Although performance is top notch, I myself distrust Dell, so I am biased on this one.
