I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

I am running Vista 64x Buisness on my XR5, and it hangs/freezes when waking up from "Sleep" mode. It loads up everything, then after a few seconds is completely non-responsive. This has also happened while trying to connect to a wireless network after waking up. I have the Gigabyte GN-WS30N wireless card.

Off topic, I just got a 3dmark06 score of 10087 stock drivers, though my stock drivers are 167.44, and video bios version 62.92.23.00.12

Hey Bmonk Congrats on recieving your comp!

I just tried it on mine. I have vista 64 busniess aswell. I could not get mine to duplicate the issue you are having. I downloaded new drivers for the wireless card off gigabyte's website though. Is this happening straight out of the box or have you installed any other applications that might be running in the background that doesn't like sleep mode?

Try doing the following as it worked on my 5792-based notebook:

    1) Right click your desktop; on the drop-down menu, click personalize.
2)Click on screen saver then choose at the bottom "change power settings"
3)On the left pane, click on "choose what computer does when I close the lid and if not enabled, choose shut down
    4) when putting the computer to sleep, make sure you use the Function key and whatever F-key is assigned to sleep or go to the Start menu bottom far right and click on the arrow and choose sleep.

Please note that for these high-end machines, the sleep state takes a bit longerto set-in and wake.

I think that should clear up the issue. Sending back your notebok is a last ditch measure.
