getting closer and closer to buying the 5793 but was curious about both the quality and the fit and overall look if anyone has bought theirs with this option. I know Skin-it has been around for a bit and thats an option but that requires my doing it myself. So whats your experience with them?

When choosing our skins they are done in house by our staff. The material we use is very glossy and shiny. The pictures doesn't do them justice.
-
yea i may be interested in a skin as well.

@ boscocosta We have a skin gallery on our website or you are welcome to create your own.
-
you've been upgraded to "NBR Guzungee Hippie"
Now, that would be a cool skin! -
Darn, wonder how that happened

IS a skin just a sticker, or is it sealed in somehow? (ie: If you skin the wrist-rest, does the texture feel odd compared to the rest of the surface? Is there s thin ridge where the sticker starts?)
And can you buy a skin and apply it yourself, months after you buy?If so, how easy and how successful will it be?

I want to know if the graphic below can be done as a skin, or whether it is a full-blown paint job. I don't know why, but the image just appeals to my geekiness.
P.S. This image links directly from the XoticPC website. If there's anything wrong with that, please tell me and I will remove it ASAP. -
Better than Skins: http://www.hitechtattoos.com/ I'm not sure if there is something similar in the US, or if you can mail to them to have jobs done. But if you're in Toronto or Vancouver it's very cool work. I'm debating getting it done on my new notbook when I get it.. though I may just end up airbrushing it.

This image you posted was a Painted "A & B" surface.
A skin would not reproduce the same effect as the paint job did in this picture. Notice that the background is painted in (Chevrolet Burnt Orange) and matches well to the orange trim on the machine. This orange color would not turn out as well as it did with the paint on a skin. If you have some added questions, feel free to PM or email me. -
Thanks for the info. I was hoping I could get the same effect with a skin, since I couldn't possibly condone ~$300 additional expense just for extra pretty
.

Gotta love that fork bomb skin. Whoever ordered that must be a Linux fan.
