    I should receive it sometime next week... gee 3 weeks for an order..

    Not impressed... Seems like this happens everytime I order a new box...

    I did get free 1 day shipping... big deal... I am really not happy...

    Maybe I should just cancel.

    ... not as bad as some of the dell delays. also note that getting high end on or near the launch, means you might experiance shortages.

    My alienware m7700...(aka... Big Paper Weight)...
    took me 5 weeks to get it... And I was sooooo disappointed when I got it...

    I actually had to call them and figure out what was going on because didn't receive any updates....

    Had a partially lit pixel as soon as I opened it up...
    The machine never really blew me away... I think I got ripped off on the hype..

    I had to wait a month for my Sager NP2090, delays are unfortunately common in new technology, especially in the realm of laptops.

    It isn't exactly shocking to experience a delay such as this. :(

    A backorder is a backorder. It is not their fault that they don't have the parts on time.

    I work in retail and have to act as the middle man for backorders.

    Every week telling my customer what my distributor tells me "1-2 weeks" and then after that is up, another 1-2 weeks, then another. Yes, the customer gets upset, but it is hardly my fault.

    I think 3 weeks is hardly something to be so upset about, especially for a customized laptop.

    I don't mean to sound mean but if this is the worst of your worries, a few extra days to wait, perhaps you'd be better off buying a premade buid from any of the 'normal' retailers and taking it home the same day.

    Free overnight shipping is pretty nice.

    they did the same thing to me. on 11/7 processor back ordered. on 11/13 no 8700's they told me they would give me a $100.00 credit or overnight it to me when its ready to ship. i asked when might that be? they said "OH i don't know"
    they dont know when they are going to get the 8700's they said MAYBE in 9 or 10 days i ordered mine on 10/31 $100.00 off the lappy is not fair. i think im going to wait till monday to tell them if im going to cancel the order ill find out whats up with the 8800GTX
    allenware is saying that they are coming out with the 8800gtx's in the new M17x on the 19th thats monday (xtopic dont expect the 8700's till maybe the following wednesday) dont know when we will see the 8800's but they will be released on the 19th so i think im going to wait to find out and if they do come out on the 19th. if so the 8700's are going to be reduced in price so xtopic is either going to give back alot more then overnight shipping or lose my sale.

    I ordered mine on Sep 4th 2007 -- received it on Oct 16th.

    The wait was agony and the actual ship date was up in the air until the week before.

    I understand your frustration!

    Here's my problem.... Most likely my laptop will not be shipped until next friday. Which would the 23rd... I likely won't receive it til monday or tuesday..
    So figure the 26th or 27th..

    So 25 days to get me my laptop... What pisses me off is the day before I was told I could get this laptop in 3 to 7 days...

    Not 25...

    I sent an email back to see if I can change to 7950's, so I can get it sooner..
    I need the laptop as soon as possible... So whatever video card is in stock is what I want....

    And the middleman argument doesn't work with me... don't say one thing and
    do another... Just bad business...

    I dont want to sound argumentative but its not 3 week waiting for a custom lappy its 3 week delay above and beyond the time frame.
    3/7 days to build/test 3/7 shipping thats 6/14 days to have the lappy
    on the 7th (which was 8 days after i ordered it) they said they were just starting to build they lost one week because of no parts(but they have ALL the parts NOW)
    now 11/13 they are saying 9/10 more days "maybe" (it might be more) to get the 8700's in and then build/test then ship.
    they will overnight it or give u $100.00 for the multi week wait.
    yes it is something i wont take that way from them but not enough to make me happy (some people are never happy) i am not one of those, i will be happy.
    if the 8800's are released on the 19th ur going to lose a min. $100.00 in the value of the 8700's so what are they giving u???
    the 8700's arent going to be worth much once the 8800's are out.
    128 bit verses 256 u know what im saying or RANTING!
    i am P/OED also but i am going to try to turn it around
    if on monday the 8800's are released the price of the 8700's should go down.
    they have got to do better on the $100.00 or ill cancel. why wait 5/6 weeks for old tecno. that would be stupid to do that

    ..guys, I really don't want to sound like a prick or make it look like I'm defending anyone, but keep in mind that "backorder" means they don't have that piece in store. period. nothing they can do about it. sure, i understand how upset you might be because you were hoping to get it sooner..but s..tuff happends ;) nothing thay can do. nothing you can do. just sit on it for a few days and you will get EXACTLY what you ordered..try getting that from dell or AW - and those are really only alternatives for cutting-edge Sagers ;)

    ..so relax, go out with your girlfriend or spend an evening with your friends and some beer ;) it's going to be there eventually ;)

    ..and regarding old technology? look at people who bought "high-end" alienware 9750..they are getting Napa-based notebook at a HUGE premium..and AW's customer service really sucks..try calling them and you'll see that they don't even know what they are selling :D

    anyway, congrats on new monsters guys..you WILL be happy with them ;)

    p.s. I am NOT working for Sager/Clevo/XoticPc and they didn't bribe me to write it..though I wouldn't complain about being bribed with a NP5791 or NP 9261 :D

    I reveived an email back from them about the 7950 swap...

    They still wouldn't be able to get the laptop out by tuesday :(

    But they did try....

    No matter how much I really want to complain about them... They do go the extra step... They even called me personally to let me know that the pc was going to be delayed...

    I asked if they could just send me the targus backpack and forget the shipping... I already paid for 1 day air......

    So it looks like I will keep my 8700's and wait.....

    Boy it's killing me... I have been working on an IBM Stinkpad T43 and these things are junk...... I also switch to my Samsung Q1... the Q1 works quite nicely... Its just sometimes I would rather have a bigger screen....

    I am so glad I staying away from Alienware this time....
    My big glue m7700 is just sitting under my desk at home... What a waste of money....

    Hopefully the new sager is way better... It won't have to do much to be better than the m7700....

    Hi Guys.

    Here in Brazil, the Clevos are named "Powernotes" and are sold by www.powernote.com.br as you may see at their site. They are located at Rio de Janeiro.

    I have ordered a M570 model, aka Clevo/Sager M570ru, on October 26th and had hope to be receiving the note in about 15 days, as they inform that it takes 7 to 10 working-days (don't know if this would be the correct expression in English :D ) to mount, test and ship the machine.

    Last Friday, November 9th, they told me to expect the machine after November 15th, that is a national hollyday here. So, I don't expect it to be finished and delivered on Friday, 16th, as everybody here joints these 2 days (Thursday and Friday) with the weekend on a big 4 days hollyday (things of Brazil :) ), taking this in consideration, the most probable date would be next Tuesday (20th) or Wednesday (21st).
    I thought it, but before this topic.

    Readind this topic, I got two impressions:

    1- there seems to be a big international delivery problem with the NVidia 8700 GPUs, as there are several related posts here, from other countries.

    2- as they told me that they were waiting for some components from outside Brazil, and that other components were already on their hands, with the note semi-mounted, I can figure that the missing components are really the 8700 GPUs indeed.

    After reading all these posts here, I'm not so sure even more that I would really have this note on my hands next week :( if there is some serious international delivery problem with the 8700 video cards.
    Better be preparing my self for one or two more weeks of suffering after next week.
    Do what? :confused:

    my post wasn't even directed at you and nothing in the original post said that anyone had to wait over 3 weeks PAST 3-7 business days. 7 business days is the 9th, which just past last friday, it is hardly overdue and WITH a backorder, which is not their fault at all.


    Yes, it would not be fun to buy old technology, but that is completely irrelevant to this conversation, and is your choice of whether or not you want to buy the laptop now.

    you don't want to wait 5/6 weeks to buy old technology but you would be ok if they shipped two weeks ago and you got your old technology early? I sense no form of happiness possible.

    Perhaps you should cancel your order and wait for the 8800 to come out if it is that important to you. It should be out soon anyways.


    Normally I wouldn't chime in on this topic but it just seems like an unfair blow to a good vendor. There is no grounds for blaming anyone if an item is backordered or preordered and does not meet the 'expected' arrival date. This has NOTHING to do with the vendor.

    I understand you are upset but XoticPC should not HAVE to do ANYTHING to make you happy in this situation, as it is out of their control and backorders are a fact of life, they are just nice enough to do so.

    Yes I can understand the frustration level too, but you gotta remember it’s a CUSTOMIZED notebook, and you’re also getting personal feedback right away from xoticpc. You’re other retailers, sellers or whatever you wanna call them wouldn’t do that :mad: ….and IMO you won’t see the 8800 for a few months, if you wanna hang out for a few months till the 8800’s are pretty much available, then go for it. Alienware is waaaay over priced and to hyped up when there other affordable systems out there that do about the same performance, and small resellers like xoticpc have no control over hardware when they get back ordered. I use to work at a well known electronics store, and when something new came along this was a common issue, and this “retailer” never gave $100 bucks or any sentimental treatment to the customer for delays….yea it sucks ya gotta wait :( but your getting an awesome system compared to what the “other” guys have. But once you get it at your door step you wont be thinking about the long delay, you be thinking its time to kick some arse’ in Crysis. :D :D Hope I don’t seem like a prick :)

    U r right they are a good vendor better then most. noone is saying that they are not. but i will repeat my self again, yes the vendor did do somthing wrong. they said they have the parts to build on the 7th and they did not.

    there are others here that asked for differant cards to speed things up but its still not changing the out come
    so maybe its not just the backorder of the 8700's (like they said on the 13th.) we know the email on the 7th was not the truth. we would have the lappys

    Need to repost.....just got off a 14 hour shift last night....meant to say that Justin W said the 8700's are still on back order not that they are again....just was saying it right....dont want any confusion....even though half the time Im confused my self =P

    i'm in the same boat with RJTech. Tho they do have the video cards in stock, I'm being held up by the LCD Screen.

    I changed my order to the WUXGA Screen from the WSXGA Screen and that moved my order up a few days.

    Alienware can not match Xotic's personal service by any means....

    Do yourself a favor.. and buy from Xotic......

    Damn.... Now I am way too excited....

    I had such a bad experience with Alienware... They will never see cash from me again...

    Open up a brand new pc with a dead pixel... Damn.. I was so pissed...

    I called them and they wouldn't do anything about it...

    I called up and talked to 3 different people and they wouldn't do anything about it.... I was told I can send the box back.. But they were going to charge me a 15% restocking fee.... Total BS...$4800 down the drain....

    The laptop gets way too hot... And my vents were not dirty... Gophn.. .enough with that crap....

    Xoticpc is great.... They have my business from now on...

    I never owned a alienware lappy but i have heard bad things about them from price, to its a piece of crap. oh u cant forget there customer service. lol
    yes i agree xtopic pc has been very easy do deal with ive gottin 2 phone calls u would'nt get that from the other guys and muli. emails (some good some bad) delays but all in all they ARE the best so far. oh u cant forget the overnight delv. at no extra charge for the delay. again the best by far. (so far) i am very happy with the way they treat there customers OUTSTANDING!!!!

    Gmau, Sorry to hear about your delays. Hopefully it will get fixed this week. As for XOTIC PC I thougt they went out of their way to be helpful and let me know what was going.

    As for Alienware I think they are overpriced for what you get. Doing the comparison in my opinion you get more computer for the dollar from Sager. I know I am very satisfied with mine.

    thx and yes they have done more then i expected to keep me happy.
    i can not complain.
    i am on a tight time line before/after leaving and the lappy does me no good in n.y. while im in fla. jumping from spot to spot so it is crucial that i get it before i leave. i need to install programs and so on.(u know make sure its running right)
    they have said that they would ship it to fla. but that does me no good with me jumping around.(disney couple days,gatorland, seeing family,the space center. u know if i dont know what day it will arrive i dont know where or what town i will be in) so it does me no good but they are tring.
    i was told as i posted before of one delay on the 7th and now there was a 2nd (13th) but thats just par for the course.
    i know they have no control over the parts being on backorder from nvidia. and for them to offer overnight shipping because of the 2nd delay is just proof that they are a notch above all the rest. they are in my opion tring everything they can to make me happy and u cant ask for more then that! (as long as i get my lappy before i leave)

    i ordered the same laptop as u because of all the GREAT things u have posted. i have never tampered with a laptop ocing and so on (i only owned one prior) but u guys have made it sound and look very simple so when the time comes i might indulge.
    i did alot of research prior to ordering and i do feel that i made the best decission in picking xtopic pc.
    not only do i get emails/updates but phone calls also.
    i'll put it this way "TWO DELAYS" and still very happy with them, lol. how many people can say that?

    now TEST the dam thing and SHIP it! lol

    Damn I never expected that......

    Now that is service..... I can't tell you how happy I am...

    I hope UPS doesn't mess up though....

    But all I can say XoticPC is the best by far.....

    I am really impressed in there customer service...
