Hey folks. I'm awaiting the release of IB as well as the Nvidia 680 before I purchase an NP9150.

That said, anyone order/handle either the Black Stealth Modification or new Carbon Fiber that Xotic PC offers?

Do either of these mods impact the comfort of handling the laptops?

Do the mods protect the case any better?

    Anything else I'm missing?

    All thoughts appreciated!

We have had quite a few of those ordred. The Carbon Fiber is more popular then the Black Stealth.

Havent had one complaint it it affecting the comfort of the notebook. From testing it doesnt change how the mouse reacts and thats really the only thing it could change.

They will protect the case. We're literally applying these on top of the chassis so if it there was something that would have damaged your case like a sharp object, it will get the skin instead.

What type of texture does the "Black Stealth" skin have? It's going to be flat, but is it also slick, or is it sticky? Is it closer to flat black plastic, or flat black rubber? Thanks!

It is not shiny and flat. It looks allot like black rubber but is smoother and your fingers glide across it.

We have some images on our website, unfortunately NBR rules do not allow us to post links to our website. You can Google our "Carbon Fiber Modification"

Haha, any instructions on how to get to them from your website then? I'm curious as to how it looks.

Removing it might take some dis-assembly as we tear down the machine and install it so it wraps around the edges. Other then that it can come up if you would like to remove it in the future.

Sry for bump, but I have the stealth modification on my sager 9150 and I was wondering if I should remove it because it is a huge fingerprint magnet and the mouse makes it less glidy. I am wondering if the default trackpad is even more glidy than with the skin on, and if the default chasis is better at repelling these fingerprints.

I don't mind fingerprints but thing is with the vinyl, I gotta use a wet cloth almost every time to remove them, compared to other surfaces I don't need to wet the cloth.

That always seems to be the problem, the better something looks, the more of a fingerprint magnet it is. Just the way of the world :). Can't help you in terms of advice for removal, just saying I know your pain.

Does the addition of of those skins make the trackpad less rubbery? Thus increasing the useability of the trackpad?

The trackpad is ok to use, But damn these fingerprints lol

It's not just fingerprints, if I type on the keyboard, my wrists laying down on the area near the trackpad leave a wrist-print and I have to wipe it off
