    Xotic PC UPGRADE to 8800 gtx for the sager 9262 $160? Am I reading that right?

    Ok I just went to the xotic pc webpage and configured a sager 9262 with 1 8800 gtx 512 nvidia card, and it cost ONLY $160 to upgrade to 1 8800 gtx card from default settings, umm is this correct or is this an error?

    This has to be an error, justin?

    well it's an upgrade from the quadro so i'm assuming some card has to come with the 9262 and you're paying +160 on top of the quadro. if you'll notice the second 8800 is about 7-800 dollars more?

    yeah whatever the default is, to upgrade to the 8800 gtx its $160, can someone confirm this isn't an error? That would mean I could get this 0262 with 1 8800 gtx card for under $2500... WOW

    BTW Nirvanna, if its your sister apologize for my comment. If its not then give me the name so I can google her, shes hot!

    $160 is correct for going from a single Quadro to a Single 8800 :) It has been at this price since March. :)

    The $800 card is 2 8800 gtx cards. Can someone come in here and give a definiate anwser lol I'm confused now because of pukeman. Is the $160 upgarde to a single 8800 gtx card a different 8800 gtx card?

    Am I stupid or just plain old BLind? WoW justin I been pricing 1730's for a few months now trying to decide and I never caught this..... Is the single 8800 gtx card, $160 upgrade any different? Or is it the normal 8800 gtx card, I just can't believe the price of it.

    So why would anyone get the 5793 when its about the same price as a 9262 except the 9262 can be upgraded to sli... weight is not that huge of a factor they are both 17" systems and already big so it doesn't matter...

    geez. the base config comes with a quadro. if you want to upgrade to the 8800 it's 160. the quadro is pretty powerful itself but not really for gaming. this is too funny.

    I can tell you they are same card. compare to 9262, 5793 is thinner, lighter, longer battery life.

    it's just like any other laptop with dedicated graphics but with more than one option. dude, go look at the 5793 and i believe the base config is 8700 gt. if you upgrade, the gap in performance/price is bigger from 8700 to 8800 than the quadro to 8800. that's why it's only 160 and you think you're getting such damn good deal. but it is a good deal. :) :D :cool: :p

    Nice price then, I been bothering people on the dell forums and the alienware forums for over 3 months researching everything before making my purchase. I feel sorry for you guys in this sager forum because your gonna have to hear from my noobness now >.< I already ordered a M15x but I can cancel at any time before it ships, there is too much problems still cosmetically and with performance even with the new new X32 bios.

    And pukeman, why are you bringing up the quadro videocard? I will never get that card nor was I asking about it lol. But thanks for all the feedback, now I know it isnt a mistake

    because the quadro was the base card. like hk said, workstation cards do cost more. going by what he said, i'm assuming the 8700 and the quadro are similar in performance.

    the reason why i didn't choose m15x or m1730 was because i know that, once my laptop went down regardless what, i will not see it for at least a month for fixing. now you tell me how a college guy suppose to live w/o a computer for such long period. lol

    Quadro = optimized for cad design and other workstation apps. The 9262 is a good mobile workstation ebcause it uses desktop processors which have far more power than dedicated mobile variants. The 9262 also supports faster ram and more hard drives and HD space than a standard dell or HP workstation. It makes sense to offer workstation card options for such a laptop as it can come very close to desktop power in a compact and easy to transport package.

    Why it is the base video card is something only xoticpc knows, perhaps it was cheaper/easier than offering both the 8700gt and quadro options. Perhaps no one was buying the 8700 option with the 8800gtx option out but people were still buying the quadros.

    Oh and nirvana: give the name already dude, she's hot! :p

    The m15x is made of magnesuim alloy. BUt it does not seem to be sturdy as the m57ru as preceviced from Chazs review

    IT does have that feeling. Chazs review even supports that. Theoritacally, its supposed to be better built cus of magnesium alloy, but i guess not.

    Actualy you add another $695 if you want 2 8800's. If the quatro cost $ 695 and the 8800 $855 and that accounts for the additional $160 then you only add $695 for an additional 8800 after the first, Not $855. Right?

    Im not making it complicated. People are saying you add another like 855 for 2 8800s, But you only add 695 cause 695 + 160= 855. The quadro is included in the base price. A single 8800 is $160 over the price of a quadro. Dual 8800 are $855 over the base price with a quadro, But An additional 8800 beyond the 1st one is only $695 more. I hope that clears it up!

    That is still confusing. I misread it about 5 times before going to the site myself to clear it up. Basically it goes like this -

    price of quadro + 160$ = price of a single 8800gtx.

    (quadro price + 160$)x2 = sli 8800gtx which is 855$ + quadro price

    2x quadro price + $320 = 855 + quadro price

    quadro price + 320 = 855

    quadro price = $535
    8800gtx = 695
    8800gtx sli = 1390
